oh my friends and flickrites, pardon my sudden departure and prolonged absence: i have been wandering in the wilderness. i have learned this-in order to see the land i had to leave the road. i know this-water flows down hill and nothing can stand in it's way.

It's after the rut, but these two mule deer bucks are burning off some excess testosterone. They fought hard enough that one or the other got two or three "stingers", which had one jumping away to rub off the sting.

Happy Monochrome Monday!

“The human mind is so complex and things are so tangled up with each other that, to explain a blade of straw, one would have to take to pieces an entire universe. A definition is a sack of flour compressed into a thimble.”

= Remy de Gourmont =(French novelist, poet, playwright, and philosopher, 1858-1915)

Schleichender Herbst

Herbstmusik

Langsam schleicht der Herbst ins Land,

schickt Stürme und viel Regen,

Sommerzeit hat er verbannt,

um sein Farbkleid auszulegen.

Gerne mag er Braun und Gelb,

ebenso das fahle Grau,

mit dem Zauberwörtchen "welk"

beendet er die Gartenschau.

Bäume macht er nackt und kahl,

schickt Vögel auf die Reise,

Nebelbänke bis ins Tal

verteilt er still und leise.

Jedes Jahr treibt er dies Spiel,

lässt sich durch nichts vertreiben,

hat vor Augen nur ein Ziel,

bis zum Winter stark zu bleiben .

The dawn is breaking

A light shining through

You're barely waking

And I'm tangled up in you.

Yeah.

Flickr Support have asked me to leave my photograph up if it does not appear in your 'update feed' and start generating views as I would normally expect. This is so that their engineers can try to get to the bottom of the issue that continues to plague my account.

As a result this image may have fewer views and favourites than would be expected for a time.

"Tangle" is more Photoshop play, no AI used.
