We've all been there. You buy a new piece of technology, and you're not just holding the latest technological advancement, but the very future in your hands. This will change everything.

Then it's ten minutes later and it's a huge mess of jumbled wire that will take the next two hours to untangle.

These are for a little girl's 5 year old birthday. Making these cookies were special for me as "Tangled" was the last movie my brother and I saw together.

Tangled kelp along the shore line at Botanical Beach, Juan de Fuca Provincial Park, Vancouver Is., British Columbia, Canada.

At the west end of Juan de Fuca Park is Botanical Beach, one of the richest tidal areas along the west coast. Botanical Beach also has a unique shoreline framed by ridges of shale and quartz, which jut up through the black basalt to form huge tableaus. Botanical Beach is the western terminus for the Juan de Fuca Marine Trail and a popular day trip destination for visitors wishing to observe this sensitive and unique ecosystem. Wildlife viewing is best done at low tide, when visitors can walk out across the flat sandstone and granite outcroppings to view tide pools filled with brightly coloured marine life.

Couldn't keep my hands away from this! Almost finished. Love the pattern.

While working on a bigger project, I tangled a cardboard photo frame yesterday - for some instant gratification :) used Sakura Pigma Micron 08, a common black felt tip and a black permanent marker - because Sakura was not working too well on the surface. Yes, I should have treated it first, but I had no gesso, nor acrilics handy... Well, next time, I shall do it right.

I made these for the "Tangled" movie night at my son's school. Where's Bakerella when you need her?

This is the 5th month of my Disney dress project

It was obvious that this Gull was tangled as soon as i saw it , noticing that both of its legs were entangled in a discarded crab line. I believed it to be tethered to the ground and was promptly despatched to extrapolate it from its predicament armed with a pair of very small scissors which my wife had in her tardis of an handbag, though on approaching the bird it raised its wings and took to the air & disappears well out of my sight. sometimes you just can't help, but hopefully by posting this image more people will hopefully be inclined to think about the effect of their litter on the world around us.

Another picture of "Infinitarium" by Big Art, Oakland, CA at Burning Man 2010. This one is a closeup of one of the tangle trees.

Infinitarium

by Big Art, Oakland, CA

"infinitarium" is an organic environment that is highly interactive as it engages people on many levels. The scale of this playful garden is exaggerated, making visitors feel part of the landscape, yet humbled by nature as it looms large above them. It is a destination for people to interact with each other and the art, and contemplate the role reversal of nature being larger than human-kind. The installation is made of salvage and scrap materials, keeping it's environmental footprint to a minimum. This aspect supports the message of the sculpture; that we are small parts of a larger entity.

The components of the sculpture include water fountains, fire fountains and unique solar-powered lighting effects. The installation occupies approximately an acre. From a distance, the installation appears to be an unusual and enchanting landscape. As people draw closer to the site, the over-size scale, the elaborate details and the smaller components captivate viewers. Once they have entered the installation, visitors are enveloped by this natural, enormous environment.

Pattern: Tangled Yoke Cardigan by Eunny Jang, from Interweave Knits Fall 2007

Yarn: Rowan Felted Tweed, Cocoa, 8 Balls

Needles: US 3 & 4

I love this sweater! The DK weight yarn is perfect, so is the fit, and the yoke cable is beautiful! It did feel like it took forever to finish, but it was totally worth it. Changes I made: lengthened the body, added one buttonhole (should have added two) and cast on about 15 less stitches for the sleeves on US 3 needles (I used US 4 needles for the body). It's my new favorite and I would definately recommend this pattern.

pattern: Eunny Jang from IK fall 2007

yarn: Gjestal Nagano (100% wool) appr.420 g

needles: 3.5 mm (2.5 mm on buttonbands)

mods: I made this longer than the original

I simply love everything about this!

More Zenith...

When I was at CZT Seminar 18, the tangle Zenith [ then yet unnamed ] was unveiled by the Zentangle creators Rick and Maria. It was our second day at seminar and they even showed us the morning's paper - which Maria had doodled on! As a result, it is a tangle fairly close to my heart.

...A lovely day for a 5 mile walk.
