Hello there! I hope all is well my friends. It is the time of the week to say TGIF!!!!!! Happy Friday!!! I am here featuring West Village by Apple Fall with the Eleanora Bedroom Suite new to the N21 Event! There is several colors to choose from and each color set has a bedside table, Drawer Chest and Tallboy dresser. I went with the chalkboard color! These items should not be limited to the bedroom as they can go anywhere like a Foyer or lil corner nook for example. The nightstand could easily be a nice end table in a living room. So many ways you can use these cabinets. I have them here in a bedroom space! Most of the items in here are from Apple Fall. I have full credits of course on the blog! Feel free to take a look! Thank you so much for the support! I appreciate it! Have a blessed day! xoxo <3333 Ebony

test shot for Crazy Tuesday 4/5/22 theme: Things with Wheels
Today we had an army chopper fly over the house, we live a street away from an army barrack and it happens every now and again...they are loud and they fly almost touching our rooftops to get ready to land at the barracks...looks like they are within reach. Mimi and I ran to the window when we heard them coming...I knew what to expect...Mimi didn't...she saw this ginormous black loud bird fly just above the tree in the backyard and she bolted to the other end of the house. She was jitterish all afternoon and I don't blame her...can't imagine what she thought she saw :)
This is her hiding under my tallboy.
...and that's it: A direct hit by a 'Tallboy'. Never seen something like that before...
But the reflections are awesome, arent they....:-))

Spilsby Union Workhouse was built in Hundleby in 1837, to designs by George Gilbert Scott. After 1930 it became a Public Assistance Institution. In 1948 it was converted to the Gables Hospital providing geriatric care. It was eventually closed and demolished.
The Battle of Britain's Lancaster P A 474 painted in the colours and codes of 9 Squadron R A F, W 4964, "Still Going Strong". One of the very few Lancasters to reach over 100 operations, its final tally being 107.She was the only Lancaster in 9 Squadron on September 15 t h 1944 to hit the German battleship Tirpitz with a "Tallboy Bomb". In all the bomber's career over 200 people flew and crewed "J Jonnie" with not one fatality, a lucky aircraft indeed.
The unknown V3 or 'London cannon' was built inside a mountain at Mimoyecques, France. Details and more information can be found by the links.
After the construction site was discovered by the Allies, a bombardement with 'tallboy'-bombs took place. The workers inside the mountains searched for cover in the lower levels of the site. Unfortunately, all these were flooded because of the bombardement; more than 20,000 people died inside the mountain; their remains still rest there in the deep....
Scary place.....

Alternatively, "Should our iron fist not be used to keep peace in god's blind spot?"
my god, its full of food!
i came, i saw, i gorged. i think i gained 15 stone easily in the week i was there
all creed of gumbos and jambalayas, po' boys creaking over with gravery goodness, beignets (fru'nch donuts) and cafe au laits, god-fearing muffulettas the size of a small burning bush, and so much damn more! i didnt know sometimes if i died and went to gastro-heaven, but im pretty sure i was still livin' because at random intervals i belched like a happy fog horn. after mardi gras, i stayed in the hotel room, drank mean hurricanes, and ordered room service (cajun shrimp cocktail, half rotisserie chicken, and nyc cheesecake slathered in cherries) and more hurricanes. before you pass on to your great reward you must down a muffaletta and tallboy of beer in Jackson Square hanging with the tarot readers, and dont forget the cafe au lait chaser from Du Monde.
Gawd bless Nahleans!

Crazy Daisy, 2017
BIRGIT DIEKER
"Crazy Daisy" is a work by the artist Birgit Dieker. The 5.5 meter-high rocket is fitted closely with fragmented mannequins and a metal hood with an antenna tip.
Outstretched legs support the base. Dieker used figures from various decades.
They represent different ideals of beauty and attractiveness. Disassembled and rearranged, they encircle the explosive body of this rocket.
Technology and machines are often advertised or linked with pornographic images. "Crazy Daisy" can be understood as an ironic reference to the fact that soldiers often give combat aircraft and missiles female names. Especially US fighter pilots have decorated the tops of their aircrafts with pinup girls since theSecond World War. Since then, men have described female bodies with terms like Second World War. Since then, men have described female bodies with terms like sex bomb, or the German terms meaning grenade or calibre.
The "legs" of the "Crazy Daisy" have an assistive function, but at the same time they replicate mannequin poses. Can the consumerism of the western world be understood in a metaphorical sense as an explosive device, where the destructive power lies within? The rocket and mannequins represent a picture of perfection with destructive power.
The shape of "Crazy Daisy" is reminiscent of the British aerial bomb "Tallboy".
When Dieker researched for her work at the MHM, she was also interested in the bombs and rockets from the collection, such as the first functional large liquid propellant rocket "V2". It was undergoing development in the German Reich since 1939. The so-called "retaliatory weapon 2" or "V2" flew with a top speed of 550 kilometres per hour. Within minutes, it could reach faraway targets. More than 8,000 people died as a result of V2 attacks, most of them in London and Antwerp.
Concentration camp prisoners and forced labourers were forced to produce the V2 under inhumane conditions. Presumably more than 16,000 of them died.
The V2 was co-developed in Dresden and is a central exhibit of the permanent exhibition of the MHM, where Dieker researched for her work.
Charging west on the NS Springfield-Hannibal District at Arnold is the final NS Train 255 Triple Crown Services RoadRailer that these rails will ever see. There was an almost steam excursion sized chase pack after this train, and we ran into several people that I'd not seen in years. One of them was here, Pat Scott, and we happily chugged a pair of warm Busch Light Tallboys to give them a good sendoff.
Losing these trains is like the death of a friend. I know these things either ran great, or ran awful. I know they had air problems, especially late in life. I know they tore in half on occasion. But, there was no other freight train on the planet like them. I've always said they're the only train you could hear go by from a distance, sight unseen, and identify without a shadow of doubt what it was. That sustained single truck cadence always allowed me to tell when they were going by at night, rattling the frog 1,800 feet from our kitchen window the past 3 years.
These very fascinating RoadRailer trains have traversed a number of routes on the NS System and other railroads over the past few decades, but they never caught on anywhere like the TSC trains did on the NS, and had an impressive 38 year run for what was basically an experimental piece of equipment and an unique intermodal concept.
With the decision made not to invest more in the equipment, the last remaining service lane since the others ended in 2015 was this one on the Former Wabash between Oakwood Yard in Detroit and Voltz Yard in Kansas City hosting trains 255 and 256 moving mostly auto parts headed to the Ford Kansas City Assembly Plant at Claycomo that rolls F-150s and Transit vans off the line.
As the equipment aged out and slowly deteriorated and became more difficult to operate, for 9 years there's been a perpetual rumor that these trains were done "by the end of the year", and that day finally came on August 26th when this one arrived at Voltz. Secondhand green 53 foot containers take over this service next week double stacked in well cars and a few of these trailers on spine cars mixed in.
The first time I saw one of these was in 1997 around Taylorville, IL, just 20 miles from here. We were traveling up a parallel highway in a 1991 GMC Safari Van headed to a family function and one overtook us, then promptly left us in the dust behind a high hood GP50 leader. I knew about them prior to that moment, but until then I'd only seen them in print. That day sparked an interest in them that never died.
On that topic, the crowds out to see this train was amazing to see; a steam train sized chase pack. I'm glad to see so many other railfans got out to see them make their last trip and could appreciate the moment. We'll never see anything else like it. The Wabash just won't feel the same without those strings of trailers—built very appropriately, I might add, by Wabash National. I'm very thankful to have been fortunate enough to see them off into their last sunset.

History
1945: PA474 was built by Vickers-Armstrongs in Broughton, Cheshire, and was completed just after the end of World War II in Europe. It was intended for the "Tiger Force" for strategic bombing in the Far East but was not needed after the war with Japan ended.
Post-war service: The bomber was converted for photographic reconnaissance duties and served with 82 Squadron in Africa for three years. It was later used for trials by the College of Aeronautics at Cranfield. During its time at Cranfield, it was used as a testbed for laminar flow wings, with test wings mounted vertically above the fuselage.
1964–1973: After being marked for static display, the bomber was rescued by the Air Historical Branch and later restored to flying condition by 44 Squadron personnel at RAF Waddington. During its restoration, PA474 appeared in the films Operation Crossbow and The Guns of Navarone.
1973–present: PA474 was officially transferred to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight in 1973 and moved to RAF Coningsby in 1976. It continues to be a main attraction at airshows and commemorative events, serving as a flying tribute to all members of RAF Bomber Command.
Significant events and details
Mid-upper turret: An original mid-upper gun turret was recovered from Argentina and fitted to PA474 in 1975.
Major overhauls: The aircraft has undergone extensive maintenance to remain airworthy. A new main spar was fitted in 1995 to extend its flying life, with expectations for it to fly until at least 2065.
Engine fire: On May 7, 2015, the aircraft suffered an engine fire but landed safely at RAF Coningsby. It was repaired and flying again by October of that same year.
Repainting: PA474 wears different liveries on its port and starboard sides, which are changed during major overhauls.
Port side: For its 80th anniversary in 2025, the port side was painted to represent Lancaster B.I LM220 of No. IX Squadron, which flew with 12,000lb "Tallboy" bombs.
Starboard side: Previously, the starboard side represented Lancaster LL922 of No. 50 Squadron.

And yes, when I’m not staring at the clouds, I’m surviving Orville’s rants over on YouTube 😂 [www.youtube.com/@AngryOrville]
Hi Everyone! I'm back!!!
Once again, hubby and I were overwhelmed by guests at our New Year bash, and I have only just recovered from the experience! I've spent a whole week away on my yacht 'The Disgraceful Duchess', just to recuperate! This is one of the many dresses which I wore during our intimate New Year celebrations.
A full guest list from the three-day party would be tedious in the extreme, but notable visitors to Lyndon Towers included such old friends as the international socialite Miss Chelsea Knightsbridge; Dick Stroker MP; Ms Karen Petts-Wood, unoffical cabinet 'Czar' for the adult entertainment industry; Ms Verity Whipsnade, Dominatrix and Female Supremacist; that famed academic reformer Earl Blassingame, the Vice Chancellor of Oxbridge; Miss Norma Tribush, actress and burlesque star; Miss Tanya Butt and Miss Sadie Payne, President and Hon. Secretary of the Pratt's Bottom Ladies Extreme Riding Academy; the Episcopalian Moderator of Fifeshire; Denis Waterwilly, the television presenter; Lord and Lady Cockermouth; the inimitable Chad Bronkhorst, of Los Angeles "Gonzo" website fame; Miss Jocasta Malmesbury-Brassing, the international polo star; Miss Victoria Malmesbury-Brassing, her twin sister; Lord Trossachs of Pitlochry; the entire Steering Committee of the Manx Democratic Communist Party; Miss Vivienne Haigh Larter Coutts-Money-Coutts-Coutts, of the famous banking dynasty; my very good friend (and American agent) Sir Henry Cobham; Sir Henry Basildon FRGS; The Dowager Duchess of Dewsbury; Ms Penelope Sterne, QC, and her adorable young partner Miss Cynthia Flower, noted yoga instructress; Mr Dan Ragmopp, the maverick financier from Missouri; Mr Gaylord Hargus and Mr Everhard Sharp, those stalwart performers from the world of XXX adult entertainment; Miss Lucinda Whackington-Rump, the international equestrian sensation; Mr Lionel Hand-Pocket, the defrocked Test Cricket Umpire; the legendary Rector of Stiffkey; Gaz Botham, the former Britpop rock star; Miss Rita Lush, the actress and model; the Chief Constables of Wessex and Beaufortshire; those magnificent Queens of Dublin High Society, the Honourable Mrs Mervyn Tallboys and her close companion Mrs Darcy ('Lady Hannah') Yelverton-Barry; Miss Tina Smalls, from the world of fetish modeling; the quiet and mysterious M'Intosh, who visits us every year but only stands and watches the proceedings; Lord Luton (representing the Law Lords), my special girlfriend (and sometime lover) Lady Henrietta Stones-Bacon; and (naturally) my current official lover, the Duke of Northumberland. Not to mention many other notable aristocrats, politicians, lawyers, magistrates, chief constables, financiers, socialites, actresses, models, Japanese businessmen, and famous figures from the worlds of broadcasting, sport, show business and adult entertainment. In fact, we had so much fun, it has taken me almost two weeks to recover from all the excitement!!!
Lots more to come in 2016 - but bye bye for now! Kisses to all my friends!
