Today's guest of NSLS is an amazing food creator.
Her store is named Mamere and it is like heaven for all the Second Life foodies! In her store you can find all the best Asian food and from all around the world.
Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to the amazing: Ms. Ai Saint-Pierre !
Cla: Hello Ai, it's a big pleasure to have you here, thank you so much for accepting to be interviewed!
Ai: You're welcome. Thank you for giving us such an opportunity.
When we welcomed you to our team of bloggers, I thought you had an interesting project. So I am honored to be able to participate.
C.: Let's start our interview going back to the beginning of your Second Life. When and how did it start?
A.: My current avatar is the second. I built the first one over ten years ago to play with my cousin in France. I thought it would be a very interesting idea to live together in SL if you have relatives in far away countries. But after that, I got tired of it, so I left SL for a while. Then, about 7 years ago, my older sister started SL, so I started SL again. That's my current avatar.
C.: When and how you started to create food and decided to open your Mamere store?
A.: I used to collect food and do RP for restaurants. However, I gradually came to think that it would be nice if I could make food myself in SL. But it was very difficult. I tried modeling software called Metasequoia, but I was frustrated. And then some time passed and I was unable to work in RL since summer 2020 due to covid. Unfortunately my job was related to travel. So I lost my RL job. But I saw this as an opportunity and decided to start learning Blender.
I learned about Blender and Substance Painter from my old friends Ouka Ugajin from [[RH]] Design House and Ai Kiyori from Carpe Noctem. And we are selling products from 2021.
C.: Are you a foodie in real life? What is your favorite food?
A.: Hmm. I have a lot of favorite foods haha. But I think sushi is my favourite. I think I used to go out for sushi once a month before the Covid pandemic.
C.: If you had to create something different from food, is there something you would like to create?
A.: I studied 3DCG to make food, so I enjoy making food the most.
But I think it would be great if I could create restaurants buildings, not just food. I made a small container cafe once, but haven't tried it since.
C.: What does inspire you the most when you have to create a new food?
A.: Lately, I like to make my customers and friends favorite foods rather than what I want to make myself. So when I know what my friends favorite foods, I feel a strong desire to make it. For me, a product is only valuable when my friends are satisfied with it. I'm not a chef at RL, but this feeling may be similar to that of a chef.
C.: So you and Miyabi are the food designers of the store. What are your respective skills? What makes your creations different?
A.: Frankly speaking, I almost only make food. But Miyabi also makes things other than food. I started learning Blender because I wanted to make food. However, Miyabi started learning Blender because she wanted to make a stuffed animal animesh. Recently, she has become able to make animesh. So our products will be food and animesh from now on.
C.: Your other sister Erica is the store blog manager, what requirements a Mamere's blogger should have?
A.: Photo quality certainly matters. But people who are only good at photography are not suitable for our bloggers. We want people who love our product to be bloggers. So it is very important that our bloggers like to have conversations with us. If possible, We would like to be friends with all our bloggers.
C.: I know this is a busy time for you, with the holiday season coming. How are you doing with all the Christmas treats? Will we have a yummy SL Christmas?
A.: We will be releasing a lot of products this Christmas. First, we plan to collaborate with Ai from Carpe Noctem to sell Christmas cocktails and sweets at Arcade event. And we will be collaborating with More from Okinawa event to sell a Christmas dinner set at Okinawa event. So probably more than 20 kinds of our food and drink will be released this Christmas.
C.: Would you like to ask yourself a question and give yourself an answer to end our interview?
A.: Okay, will you continue to make yummy food, Ai?
I like the manga Shin'ya Shokud? (Midnight Diner). And the owner of the shokud? makes whatever food he can make and serves it to the customers. And I want to be like him in SL. So, I will continue to cook yummy dishes if my customers and friends want me to cook them.
Thank you so much Ai, for getting the time to answer this interview despite your busy schedule and for letting us know better about your great store and your amazing food!

Today's special guest is a dear friend of mine and a great SL artist.
Her flickr is like a journey into a tender nocturnal world full of interesting characters who deeply capture you with their stories.
Ladies and gentlemen it's a big pleasure to introduce you to the amazing, the awesome Ms. Rose Oswin Oswald !
Cla: Hi Rose! It's a pleasure to have you here and thank you so much for accepting this interview!
Rose: You're too kind! Thank you for having me on your Not So Late Show. This is such a fun and interesting series.
C.: I'd like to know better about your SL. When and how did it begin?
R.: My SL journey had multiple beginnings, the first time was in 2008 when a friend I played MMO games with told me about Second Life, and how it was a virtual world with user-generated content. He thought I would like to try it because I loved making characters and decorating in games that we played. I'll admit the idea intrigued me but after trying it I found I didn't have the time or the money to invest in SL. It wasn't like the games that you could quest to get in game money, and of course as you know SL isn't really a game, it's a social platform where you can create worlds or visit places created by other people. I did come back 5 years later and decided to stay.
C.: What is SL for you, today? How did it change over the years?
R.: SL has always been a place where I can create. The thing I love the most about SL is that it's given me a creative outlet where I can build worlds, characters and tell stories through my photos. It's also therapeutic, if my mind is racing and I can't focus, I can log into SL and decorate and before I even realize it I'm feeling relaxed and calm. Years ago, I joined because I was looking for a place to meet people, I've never found it easy to meet them in real. I used to be very shy, and had very little self confidence. I met a lot of people, though just as they do in real, many of them moved on or left SL. For a few years I never spoke to anyone, then I joined flickr and met a lot of nice people and have become friends with some of them.
C.: If you could give some advices to someone who is new to this little magical world, what would you suggest?
R.: When you first log into SL it can be a bit daunting, you can find a lot of helpful information on their website and there are many videos you can watch but as you said this is a magical world, the magic really happens after you decide what your SL life will be. Some might say you're limited by your own imagination, but Second Life is filled with the imaginings of millions of people, you can find inspiration in places such as flickr.
C.: Let's talk about your SL photography. Your photos always tell a story and in those stories we can find many several characters. Do they represent different aspects of yourself? Would you like to let us know more about some of them characters and which are your favorites?
R.: Many of my characters represent myself though there are a few characters from shows or movies I might be watching. I love creating a new character and their stories, though it's not always obvious what that story is, because I often just do a photo with a title. I have written a few stories but I love when people comment on what they think the photo is about and who the characters are. I have two favorite characters, one is Rosie Mouse and the other is Rosey the Snail. I have so much fun being a snail, and the way the avatar moves, bobbing its head from side to side as I walk around makes me laugh so much. They represent the silly, never want to group up side of me and those that are of couples, human or a fantasy creature represent my real relationship.
C.: The night is another element that is often in your photos. What's your relation with the night?
R.: I've always loved the night and shadows. Nighttime is often a very quiet time as well, and I can think so much clearer in the darkness of the night. I like to take darker photos in Second Life because I use light projectors, with them you can see material layers better, and shadows create depth.
C.: If you had to illustrate a popular song in one picture, which one would you pick and why?
R.: I'm not really sure, I don't really listen to a lot of music these days, though music is a component of my photos and stories. I usually create the photo first and then find a song to fit the theme.
C.: Do you have a favorite photo among all the ones on your Flickr?
R.: I actually have 2 favorite photos, one is the photo I use for my flickr banner called *The Dance* www.flickr.com/photos/clararose/50265208668/ . That photo was one of those that just sort of happened, I didn't plan it out or have a story to go with it, and I couldn't believe it came out so well. The other one is another dance photo called *Somebody Make Me Feel Alive and Shatter Me* www.flickr.com/photos/clararose/51219165881/ . I took that photo at a time when I was deeply depressed and felt so numb. I remember listening to the song over and over and I logged into SL got dressed in this gorgeous ballet outfit, found what I felt was the perfect pose then took the photo. It was also one of those rare occasions when Depth of Field actually worked, and I didn't crash. Both photos feature songs from Lindsey Stirling, her music and videos have been a great source of inspiration for me.
C.: As usual, I like to end my interviews inviting my guests to ask themselves a question and give themselves an answers. Would you like to?
R.: Do you regret not trying a demo before you bought that outfit? YES! Always try a demo when you can!
Thank you kindly, dear Rose, for opening the doors of your SL world and your SL photography to us, letting us know more about yourself through your deep, interesting and so wise thoughts!

If I'm being totally honest, the left one would have been better outside of diptych. So it goes.
On actual Polaroid film as it were.
A screen capture of the establishing shot in the holodeck of the U.S.S. Orris taken on April 2, 2021. This is for the TV talk show "A Captain's Log" which contains a handful of small animated short stories from the perspective of Rogg, the ambassador's assistant. Rogg is talking to an Orion female bartender who is wearing a blue Starfleet skant. This screen capture was used in the very first episode of the TV talk show titled "Enemies of the Federation". Rogg is voiced by actor Nate Wrista. Rogg is typically talking to the Ambassador to the fans (Star Trek Fans), Bryan Kreutz and Lili Fox-Lim on a viewscreen in a live action setting on a federation starship from Star Trek. This was the longest scene that contained full animation and dialogue in the series' 13 episode first season.

It was an event in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia, that promoted the Indonesian specialty coffee varieties from many urban coffee shops. This photo was taken while three baristas talked about how to make good coffee.
Jem rocking a slightly "edgier" look to host a hot Hollywood party! I gave her that sideswept hairstyle that she sported a few times in the cartoon, plus MyScene Bling Nights Kennedy's amazing dress, which I've ALWAYS thought had a bit of a Jem vibe (the colors match the branding perfectly!), her own tights/shoes/bracelet, and Bratz Flashback Fever! Cloe's lace socks to use as a cuff and a fingerless glove :)
