Taking a moment to leave the house, stand outside at the edge of the gravel road, see the golden light, watch the roadside grasses moving in the breeze, feel the wind and enjoy the songs of the birds.

Wakering Photography Group Calendar 2020.
The calendar theme for 2020 is UK Nature and Wildlife.
Each WPG member submitted three photographs for the 2020 calendar of which only one could be selected from their entries.
We had three independent judges, Professional Photographer Clarissa Debenham, Accomplished Photographer Stuart Howell and Jan Swift.
My third entry were these fabulous Fallow Deer, this male and female were laying low hoping I would pass, which I did quietly but not before I captured this wonderful moment.
I am delighted that the judges selected this image as one of the twelve for the 2020 calendar.
There was a really big sea running yesterday, but while the tide was out it felt quite calm and idyllic. I'd had this idea of doing some more driftwood figures, so this is what slowly evolved. Old man looking at new growth. Outdoors, reflector used. Edited in Fuji's raw converter and refined in Luminar and macOS Mojave.
While taking a couple of distant photos of this barred owl it suddenly became alerted and flew directly toward me making a catch just 15 ft. in front of me. Unfortunately I didn't have the camera set for a flight shot but did take a photo of the owl covering the catch from where I was standing before quickly backing away leaving it to enjoy the catch. I'm guessing this is one of the three spring owlets.

This female Blue Jay quickly took advantage of the peanuts that were put out. She took 3 in her beak, flew off to parts unknown, then returned for more.

A nice walk along Burton Point yesterday found this Fieldfare taking in the sun in between feasting on the Hawthorn berries which seem plentiful at the moment.
This Great Blue Heron took flight as soon as I put my eye to my camera. I dream of someday having that 500mm lens so I can capture these beauties without scaring them away.
Hope you are all doing well. Have a great week!
