.... When you wake up at dawn by the sea, you walk to the water's edge at low tide and think you can reach the sun.
I listened to this melody years ago, while attending the opera Porgy and Bess at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan ... Every summer the magic of that moment is repeated and the music comes back to memory ...
FRONT PAGE EXPLORE #9. Thank You
The tide was coming in fast and I was perched on this rock. Shifted my tripod twice, else my nikon would have had a watery grave :-)
PSB Technique. NO Blending. Just layer masking with some airbrush. Layer masking of 3 tone mapped images. Then added 2 individual exposures for the water/waves . One of them from a ND8 exposure .
Have a great week friends. Those interested in the technique, may visit the set - check the description

I love the water effect on the window in this hotel room.
At Grand Hotel, Lund, Sweden. The hotel was built 1896-1898.
Fun fact, the name is not really in Swedish - 'grand' in Swedish actually means something small that can get stuck in your eye, and is not that commonly used today, and 'hotel' is spelt 'hotell'. So either they wanted to sound international and exotic when naming the hotel back in the day, or it was named by someone who got something stuck in his eye so he couldn't spell properly.
(This photo was taken back in 2022, when we stayed in the same hotel suite as we did when we got married in 2012 to celebrate our anniversary. And no, my husband wasn't ignoring me, he was taking a break when we were both quite tired.)

The wheel is a rear wheel of a toy car. It sits on a granite mortar with a film of water for the reflections. Only one source of light through the kitchen window. The back ground colour are provided by coloured plastic bags.
Hope you enjoy The Eagles singing " Take it Easy" of which the title is part of the lyrics.

From the summit of Corno del Camoscio, 3,030m, view toward the valley of Gressoney, with the mountain named Testa Grigia towering alone in the centre.
During winter this is one of the apexes of the large ski area of Monte Rosa.
If you want you can get up here from the last station of the cable lift, in less than 45 minutes.
I started instead from the village of Alagna, on the opposite side of this divide, at dawn.
It was one of those days when you just want to keep on walking... and, with my right hand still out of duty, my wife wanted me to stay on easy tracks.
Always thanks to that wrecked hand of mine, this is still straight out of my phone. Details are poor in respect to my Sony cameras, but this ultra wide lens is really enjoyable and the HDR mode is able to retain good tones in the highlights and shadows.
Stay healthy!
State in salute!
TIme for a flickr break.
Seems like a good time to say thanks to friends, contacts and regular visitors for all the support, feedback, advice and copious amounts of inspiration over the past year.
It's always appreciated.

DOWN by the salley gardens my love and I did meet;
She passed the salley gardens with little snow-white
feet.
She bid me take love easy, as the leaves grow on the tree;
But I, being young and foolish, with her would not
agree.
In a field by the river my love and I did stand,
And on my leaning shoulder she laid her snow-white
hand.
She bid me take life easy, as the grass grows on the weirs;
But I was young and foolish, and now am full of tears.

Take it easy. -- Eagles
It is fitting that I am late with this. It's how things are going lately.
Hope you had a wonderful day for the double 18's:)

Seemed we were 'right time and right place' on our dog walk by the Leeds-Liverpool canal this morning.
Smile on Saturday! - Natural Stones
Many thanks to everyone who took the time to view, comment and fave my photo. It’s really appreciated. 😊
This one has been taking it easy for awhile now.This was actually part of a really large farm many years ago.The ruins of a large barn and several large machine sheds loom in the background.It has 3 large silos so a lot of cattle were fed there.My guess is that this became a rental in later years,and the last renters well...left for the Hotel California...
All I know for sure is that they were already gone but I have no reason to believe they were desperados....
The best performance of "Take it Easy" with the incomparable Glenn Frey is here...
...you know the rest!
Apparently there was some artistic license with the type of truck and place where this breakdown actually happened. But never let facts get in the way of a good story...
If you've listened to any music in the last fifty years, anyway.
There may be other reasons to visit ... a meal or stay at the stately La Posada Hotel comes to mind... but Winslow was certainly put on the map by the reference in the Eagles' song "Take It Easy" in 1972.
Here's the corner, complete with the reflection of the girl "in a flatbed Ford, slowin' down to take a look at me". There is a red Ford actually parked on the street, but the "reflection" is really a mural. It's called "Standin' On the Corner Park" and it opened in 1999; a 2004 fire destroyed most of this building, but the front of it was saved. Earlier photos showed four windows on the second floor (instead of the two seen here, although edges for the other two are faintly visible) and an eagle in the now-missing one on the far left. Not sure if that was destroyed in the fire or not, but it's clearly no longer here.

Just out of view on the right is a statue of Glenn Frey, the co-writer of "Take It Easy" and the lead vocalist in the Eagles' song. It was erected a few months after his death in 2016.
EDIT: Regarding the "missing" windows... A Google revealed that this entire scene is a mural, not just the first floor. Still don't know why windows 1 & 3 were painted over. By looking at older photos, I learned that this happened recently - sometime between October, 2016, and February, 2017. ???
Taking it easy on the world's largest salt flats. Bolivia.
We couldn't decide on what to 'write', the first thought was "BOLIVIA", but no one could figure out how to do the 'B'... though I must add that 'S' isn't easy either... one guy had a t-shirt with the words TAKE IT EASY written on them... and the rest is history.
I only had a 10 second timer window to push the shutter and sprint to finish the '!'
