No more dessert left though: we had xi mu lu, a milky sago soup with coconut flavour and palm sugar, with chopped cubes of melons (watermelon and rockmelon/cantaloupe) floating in it.

Got lots of leftover choped up melon though, will have that for dessert.

Hooray for Malaysian food in Bunbury! And what a sumptuous lunch!

Lunch On The Grass by Diana House

We arrived at the Indian food festival earlier this year and managed to get real food instead of fried chiles. This is a combination of lentils, potatoes, cabbage, and rice. So good. The cabbage was the best part. We also got to watch people dance while we ate- children with wrist and ankle bells and men in shiny, silky clothes.

Sharing A Lentil Pancake by Diana House

I think this is a Sri Lankan dish (there was a huge number of food stalls at the festival- I can't remember what they all were). It is a lentil pancake filled with vegetable curry. It's very similar to Indian masala dosa but this was called something else. The pancake is a bit sour and has an interesting texture- it reminds me of Ethiopian injera.

Phil doesn't like extremely hot food, so he must have overlooked the sign describing these chile bajji as a "hot and spicy" delight. We had some hot and spicy lips and tongues after tasting them.
