A fairly close encounter with a Black-tailed Godwit in breeding plumage on a patch of grass next to the salt-water lagoon at Rosscarbery, County Cork.
Photographed in Kittitas County near Ellensburg, Washington. One of half dozen or more Red-tailed Hawks that flew just before I was able to take a photo. Not as sharp as I would like but nice pose. IMG_2083

Buteo jamaicensis
Taken right off the parking lot at the boat launch. This one let me walk across the field and right up to it. Just a square crop, but pretty much filled the frame.

My social distancing continues. One of my friends commented: "Mike, you've always maintained social distancing!" Maybe there's a bit of truth to that? On topic: My project to do a gallery of my trip to the Falklands continues. Here's one that I put a great deal of work in removing branches behind this Long-tailed Meadowlark as it dove off a brambly bush near one of the lodges in the Falklands.
Stay safe, we're making progress.
Mike
