One of the two rare Takahē at the Zealandia Ecosanctuary, Wellington, New Zealand. This flightless endemic bird was spending quite some time pecking at small stones on a path and it almost seemed to be choosing small stones to digest. Takahē can spend 19 hours a day feeding on the tussock grass shoots they love and they have been labelled the pandas of the bird world.
Takahē are a large flightless bird endemic to New Zealand and the world’s largest rail. Rediscovered in 1948 after 50 years considered extinct, the Takahē Recovery Programme has seen Takahē numbers increase to around 500 birds (scattered around 20 sanctuaries throughout New Zealand) although only 150 birds are considered breeding pair numbers.
Takahē evolved to life on the ground in the absence of ground-dwelling predators. They developed a large body (up to 4 kilos or nearly 9 pounds) standing 500mm tall (20 inches), with small wings and very strong legs. The arrival of European settlers and the introduction of predators such as rats and stoats saw numbers decimated until only a final population existed in a remote South Island mountain range as discovered in 1948.
Takahē have special cultural, spiritual and traditional significance to Ngāi Tahu, the iwi (Māori tribe) of most of New Zealand's South Island. Ngāi Tahu value Takahē as a taonga (treasure) and they continue to act as kaitiaki (guardians) of the Takahē by working with the Department of Conservation to protect this precious species.

The traffic on the left hand side of the clip is travelling on the State Highway 75 to and from Akaroa. The lights on the horizon are most likely aurora chasers near Birdlings Flat. There was a late number of photographers and spectators enjoying the show. The strong southerly wind created a choppy lake surface resulting in poor reflections.

Lake Te Anau (Māori: Te Ana-au) is in the southwestern corner of the South Island of New Zealand. The lake covers an area of 344 km2 (133 sq mi), making it the second-largest lake by surface area in New Zealand (after Lake Taupō) and the largest in the South Island. It is the second largest lake in Australasia by fresh water volume. The main body of the lake runs north-south, and is 65 km in length. Three large fiords form arms to the lake on its western flank: North Fiord, Middle Fiord and South Fiord. These are the only inland fiords that New Zealand has, the other 14 are out on the coast. Several small islands lie in the entrance to Middle Fiord, which forks partway along its length into northwest and southwest arms. The surface of the lake is at an altitude of 210 m. It has a maximum depth of 425 m, so much of its bed lies below sea level, with the deepest part of the lake being 215 metres below sea level.
The Lake Te Anau control gates which control the flow of water from Lake Te Anau into the Waiau river and maintain the water level between 201.5 and 202.7 metres above sea level.
Several rivers feed the lake, of which the most important is the Eglinton River, which joins the lake from the east, opposite the entrance to North Fiord. The outflow is the Waiau River, which flows south for several kilometres into Lake Manapouri. The town of Te Anau lies at the south-eastern corner of the lake, close to the outflow.
Most of the lake is within Fiordland National Park and the Te Wahipounamu World Heritage Site, the latter of which was officially recognised internationally in 1990. Other than the Te Anau township, the only human habitation close to the lake is the farming settlement of Te Anau Downs, close to the mouth of the Eglinton River. Between these two settlements the land is rolling hill country, but elsewhere the land is mountainous, especially along its western shore, where the Kepler and Murchison Mountains rise 1,400 m above the surface of the lake.[citation needed]
Lake Te Anau was important for the Ngāi Tahu iwi in pre-European times as the area was a traditional stopping point on their trails between the east and west coasts of the South Island of New Zealand, where they obtained food and resources. The lake was first discovered by European explorers Charles Naim and William Stephen in 1852.
Two New Zealand Great Walks start at the lake. The Milford Track starts at the northern tip of the lake and the Kepler Track starts and ends at the south tip of the lake at the Waiau River.

What if things had turned out differently ? What if Umarak had used his Shadow powers to take control of the Toa ? I've wanted to use the red / trans-neon green Unity Mask of Fire for a while, and it's when I bought a pair of Technic Modular Connectors on BL in March that I decided to build a corrupted Tahu. You can spot one of these in the middle of the torso, below the chestplate.
It doesn't look as good on the photos as in real life, so I may have to take some new pics later.
Although this could be a revamp of Tahu, this actually is a beginning of my own new original Toa team.
I have 3 members of the new team finished, so I’m not at all done, but I just really wanted to share this one earlier.

Last December, I posted a virtual model of a human-scaled version of Tahu Mata's sword.
vahki6 agreed to print it, and finally, here it is ! He scaled it down a bit, though, so it measures 85cm (33in) long instead of 1m (39in). I never thought someone would be crazy enough to actually make this sword, haha.

Tahô is a Philippine snack food made of fresh soft/silken tofu, arnibal (brown sugar and vanilla syrup), and pearl sago (similar to pearl tapioca).[2] This staple comfort food is a signature sweet and can be found all over the country. The Indonesian and Malaysian equivalent of this dish is Tahu.[3]
