Parked in the council depot at Pontypridd in 1983 was this rare Longwell Green bodied AEC Regent V of Taff Ely, 93 (GTX 936D)

Metro Cammell bodied 92 is alongside.

Perhaps there is too much emphasis on the landscape in this shot and not enough on the train but an attempt to capture the essence of the Welsh Valleys. 66177 is seen leaving Pontypridd along the Taff/Cynon Valley destined for Tower Colliery with coal empties on the 4C46.

The Cefn Coed Viaduct was built in 1866 to carry the Brecon and Merthyr Railway across the river Taff north of Merthyr Tydfil in South Wales, UK.

It is built on a lovely curve best appreciated from the air.

 

It has 15 arches at a height of 115ft above the Taff. Its now a used as a cycle route and part of the Taff Trail.
