I now use an Oakley "Kitchen Sink" tactical backpack to carry my gear to/from work. With a padded back, heavy duty strap, heavy duty quick-release carbiner clips, and a rugged construction, this is the bag for the urban warrior.

The Maxpedition Falcon-II Backpack features well-padded shoulder straps with a 1-inch waist strap and a 1-inch sternum strap. There are 2 compression straps at the side and a front 'Y’ shaped compression strap to secure your load and keep the weight as close to your back as possible as well as a comfortable padded back panel. A very neat extra on a backpack of this size is the addition of weight distribution straps on the shoulders which really help with the ergonomics of a narrow yet deep backpack.
