I used a graphics tablet (to get the smoothness of the loop) and the freeform pen tool to make this. I put the pen tool on the path setting and made a giant rounded zigzag. Then I added a gradient stroke to the path on a new layer. It's a light pink to light yellow to white. Then I deleted the path. Next I saved the gradient and used it again when I added an outer glow to the new stroked layer. This gives it the soft swirly look. Then I erased the zigzag in certain places to get the looping around the cat effect. And that's how I did this. It sounds really complex, but it's really pretty simple. Made in Photoshop CS3
