search, trade, guess ... to drive you crazy
The small game board offers space for 6 coconuts, each with monkeys of one color. The players try to collect a monkey of each color as quickly as possible.
On a turn, the player rolls the dice. The result allows him to do one of the following actions: view contents of a nut, rotate the game board, swap 2 notes, guess what color monkeys are in a coconut. In this last action, the player may take a monkey from the nut and place it in his supply.
The player who first has all 6 suits wins the game.
When setting up this shot and trying to shoot while holding the cue stick, I forgot the cue ball! Oh well, it will make you smile!

Smile on Saturday theme: Tabletop Game Components
Thank you everyone for your kind comments and favs! All are greatly appreciated!
I admit that I had planned another kind of photo of my chess pieces but it seems that my cat didn't like the setup. He jumped onto the chess board, chess pieces were flying all over the place and he was obviously very pleased with himself. I gave up and took a photo of the "slightly" modified scene. Cats always win ...

It's no wonder some of the horses have legs missing. This set is at least 60 years old and as a family was well played. No television in those days.
I need to invest in a good Dictionary.....because my Wife is Beating Me too often at Scabble........
The little one knows how to play this game and I don't....
My friend, who is visiting, agreed to be part of my project today :) She is holding oversized cards (7 1/2 " long) and the little one small ones (3 1/2" long) which still look too big for him.
Winter evenings, squabbling over which sibling had which piece. The top hat was my favourite for some reason.

I've only got a few of these crystal glass chess pieces. They glitter in the sunshine, acting like prisms. Sadly I had no sun when I was shooting this time ....

I lent my old Monopoly set to someone and it was left for a long time in a very damp basement, so all but the figures were destroyed, and I had to buy a new set - HSoS!
The game Ticket to Ride posted for Smile on Saturday. The pieces are train carriages who race to complete their journeys first.
HSoS 😊
The Grandchildren's lovely wooden game of balance with Seals, Whales and Polar Bears and a die for choosing which animal to try and balance on the ice cap. It's also lovely for imaginative play for one♡

When i read the theme for the next Smile on Saturday Challenge then instantly Memories of my childhood came up. I don`t know how many Hours my friends an me have spent playing this great Game called RISK ! The Game is well known around the world and gets played since over 60 Years by Generations. Back in 1957 it got created by Albert Lamorisse, a french filmmaker. I still own the Game and we play it from time to time when we celebate game nights. So i took the chance to shoot an image of my DE LUXE Version of the Game for the theme quite a while ago.
Risk is a strategy board game of diplomacy, conflict and conquest for two to six players. The standard version is played on a board depicting a political map of the world, divided into forty-two territories, which are grouped into six continents. Turns rotate among players who control armies of playing pieces with which they attempt to capture territories from other players, with results determined by dice rolls. Players may form and dissolve alliances during the course of the game. The goal of the game is to occupy every territory on the board and, in doing so, eliminate the other players. The game can be lengthy, requiring several hours to multiple days to finish. European versions are structured so that each player has a limited "secret mission" objective that shortens the game.

Yahtzee has been played in our family over generations. We haven't played for years but I found the game in the back of a cupboard. Apart from the smell of moth balls, it still had some old scorecards from way back when.

Day 260/365:
Smile on Saturday - Tabletop game components
Definitely Dreaming - Square. Adding this one out of sequence as I'm struggling to keep up and it just occurred to me that this would fit the theme.
I remembered we still had our son's first chess set and thought it might be good for this theme. I showed it to our grandson and told him it belonged to his daddy when he was little. He asked if we could play a game of 'chest' and he would like the white pieces.
