Kevin you constantly inspire me to try new things, to experiment, to look further afield, think laterally and question everything. Thank you for your constant encouragement and your great kindness. It is really much appreciated.

For anyone who knows Cape Town this will be a familiar sight - it is Lion's head and Signal HIll on the right with Table Mountain left with its table cloth on. Somewhere near Constantia and heading toward de Waal Drive

It doesn't matter where I am in the world... the flowers always attract me!
In Cape-Town, like in all Southern and Mediterranean climes, you'll find HIBISCUS! LOTS of them, virtually in every garden... Member species are often noted for their showy flowers and are commonly known simply as hibiscus, or less widely known as rose mallow.
The tea made from hibiscus flowers is known by many names in many countries around the world and is served both hot and cold. The beverage is well known for its colour, tanginess and flavour.

A replica of the ship Bounty, specifically the one built for the 1981 film "Mutiny on the Bounty," visited Cape Town in September 1987 as part of a larger event commemorating Australia's Bicentenary. This replica ship, along with other tall ships, participated in a re-enactment of the First Fleet's arrival in Sydney.
1 more shot of Phantom Falls, table mountain from my trip last week. I was not all that happy with the last one I posted, and thought this one turned out better, and more balanced. This viewpoint shows a nice clear drop into the trees. I was going for the sense of height on this one, let me know what you think!
Better viewed on black. Could not decide which of the two photo's is the better, so I decided to post both. Help me pick the better. Thanks

Took this on Signal Hill to enter it in a competition (Where on earth?) in a science magazine. I also had to provide clues about the geology, about which I know very little (lucky there is Google).
I ventured up Signal Hill last night with my bestbuds Sean and Kieran, hoping to hear Kings of Leon who were playing in the Greenpoint stadium, and to grab some pics of course ;). After getting chased away by numerious officials, we found this spot on the way down to absorb the view. What a city Cape Town is, and wow does it look striking at night!
I'm going to print this image in my portfolio book over two pages. I think either half of the image is strong enough to be it's own photograph, so hopefully it'll work well :).

Location: Bridge over the Black River, near Maitland
Description: I’ve often driven along the Black River Parkway at this time of the day, and every time I’ve kicked myself for not having a camera with me to capture the beauty of this scene... yesterday afternoon my luck changed for the better!!
Technique: Another vertical, two image panorama, correctly exposing for the sky and mountains in the background, and the water and grass in the foreground. After blending the images, I separated the water and sky, and then lightened and tweaked the contrast on the mountains and grass. Finally, a bit of dodging brought out some extra detail in the darker bits.

Table Mountain reflection from Heather Meadows, Mt Baker, 1:00 A.M. We saw about a dozen shooting stars before clouds rolled in and the moon came up. My first try at a night sky photo.

The southwester wind, known as the 'CAPE DOCTOR' because in the old days it blew all the pollution away brings with it cloud cover over the mountain. Sometimes a thin veil of cloud blows over the top and down the front and this is known as the Tablecloth. Taken from V&A Waterfront.
