in this view one can just about make out the batterns underneath the top. I tried to make a feature out of them. As the top shrinks they will stick out more, so i cut them a bit oversized to start with (so it wouldn't notice so much when they stick out).
at my kitchen table.....overcooked the peppers leaving a juiciness that took away from the scallops. Or was the juiciness from the scallops? I dried them before I cooked them. The tomatoes (from the garden, like the peppers) made the meal very red.

There were so many things I* could have shot on the table, like a still life that I enjoy to set up and shoot for instance. But I went for the more "what's actually on the table approach" lol It was nice to just have the challenge over and done with today, without having to clean up and pack away anything.lol maybe a bit of a boring shot, but I don't care 8)

each year my dear friend brings the most amazing flower arrangements from here garden for my birthday: here, here, and here.
this year, after last week's hard frosts (she had 18F!) she had little to work with, so...
...she showed up with a brown paper bag full of autumn loveliness (gathered from her own trees and hedgerow, friends' places, parks in town, and the fairgrounds) and tossed them willy-nilly out onto our kitchen table into the most gorgeous of centerpieces.

Another picture from Tuesday's visit to Glyndebourne. We discovered this table set up by someone for their picnic far away from the madding crowd amongst the long grass by the lake ...... such a good idea !!!
this is my new table. I am very proud of it; we've built it ourselves over the week-end. My dad and my fiancé made all the cutting and putting together and I painted it. Let me tell you that you are going to see a lot of it!
Got this table as a gift from a commission piece I did for an Ebay display. Now it displays some of my paper ornaments.
we have a thrift next to a Woolrich outlet. They were going out of business, I got this old fixture table for $20 no tax!! Don't mind my need to iron or the partially refinished chair selection. if I stayed away from the thrifts I might get it finished. OH, it has great beadboard-ish detail on the apron and a nice beveled old antique-y edge to the bottom of the apron. I had to fight an aggressive dealer guy to keep it, but it was worth it!
I went for lunch in The Black Jug pub in Horsham with some friends today - I love the pattern of the grain and the smooth surface of this table top.
