GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN---Beautiful dining table from the 60s can easily seat six. Great, sexy lines.
I was at a friends house and wondered what the table decor would like photographed with my Canon 5D Mark II camera and Canon 85mm F/1.2 II L lens at an aperture of F/1.4.
I placed a small candle in one of their drinking glasses for illumination.
No photoshop this is right out of the camera.

Flower arrangement purchased at Bunches Los Gatos. I splurged but heck, why not?

I bought the IKEA table off of craigslist. Great buy. And the chairs I picked up new at IKEA this weekend. The milk bottle is from ebay.
this is my new table. I am very proud of it; we've built it ourselves over the week-end. My dad and my fiancé made all the cutting and putting together and I painted it. Let me tell you that you are going to see a lot of it!

I went for lunch in The Black Jug pub in Horsham with some friends today - I love the pattern of the grain and the smooth surface of this table top.
The room is filled with linen covered tables, polished silverware, an abundance of art deco and TinTin prints, as well as vintage champagne buckets.

Lampshade is made of Indonesian gourd. Pattern on the laaible on the walls. Circles are surrounded by perforated area. Every hole was manually drilled in specific scheme with high precision. The lamp was painted with wood oil in rosewood color.
The base of the the lamp is carved from the block of alder wood and painted in the same color as lampshade . The stand is decorated with brown jewellery waxed string.
Height of the lamp: 39cm (15,4”)
Diameter of the gourd : ~20cm (7,9”)

"Less than three weeks after the opening of the light the headkeeper's son, Bertie died at the age of 14 months.

Bertie Jackson, son of the head lightkeeper, departed this life aged one year and two months."
The undertaker struggled up from Wynyard on horse back with the small casket and after consultation with the clergy recommended that Bertie be buried near the lighthouse were his family could tend to his grave.
He was placed in a grave marked by a fuchsia bush. The bush has long since disappeared, but locals who knew the place have recently constructed a memorial".(Light houses of Australia)
each year my dear friend brings the most amazing flower arrangements from here garden for my birthday: here, here, and here.
this year, after last week's hard frosts (she had 18F!) she had little to work with, so...
...she showed up with a brown paper bag full of autumn loveliness (gathered from her own trees and hedgerow, friends' places, parks in town, and the fairgrounds) and tossed them willy-nilly out onto our kitchen table into the most gorgeous of centerpieces.

This was actually part of the Thanksgiving table setting, as there was a card table set up to the left and son Tony and family brought another small table so we could get all 12 seated in my small living and dining room.
I had put the fan toy the cats don't like on the table set to on so the little paper butterflies spun around and they didn't make any move to get on the table -- worked like a charm! LOL!
