July 3rd, 2014: the first time i felt compelled to pull off the road to take a photograph

For the past few weeks, I've been checking the weather channel app on my phone hoping for something other than sunny/hazy empty skies. Tuesday afternoon called for partially cloudy and that was enough to convince me to head to Venice for the evening. This was just before the last of the light vanished over the horizon. Turned out to be a pretty nice evening on a mostly empty beach.
