Night and day or day and night? Symmetry?
"Dusk, is just an illusion, because the sun is either above the horizon or below it. And that means that day and night are linked in a way that few things are; there cannot be one without the other, yet they cannot exist at the same time. How would it feel, I remember wondering to be always together, yet forever apart?"

These are the greatest Forms

Come now child, the day is long
Hide not yourself from me
Angels sing the final song
Silence will turn to sleep
Take heed my son
The darkness will come
Black holes will bend the proudest ones
And change up your symmetry
Just as the night swallows the sun
I know you'll come for me
Take heed my son
The darkness will come
Take heed my son
The darkness will come
Rest now child, the day is done
The dark comes for everything
Inside the heart of everyone
There lives infinity
Captured in: Bay Lake, FL.
I had an opportunity to capture some animal shots while visiting a wildlife park during a recent trip to Florida. One of the images from that visit that I've always liked was a simple shot of a zebra grazing in a field. I remember thinking how symmetrical the stripes were, and thought I could eventually work that into a composition about symmetry and patterns found in nature.
I really wasn't fond of my original image by itself, I did have a very sharp capture of the animal. I felt the background was too busy, although I knew Photoshop could always help me remedy that situation. ;)
This was a project to allow me to continue practice my selection skills in PS (which always seems to be a challenge to me), as I needed to draw the subject away from the distracting images behind it.
Hope you like the final result.

"Symmetry in Nature" is a non-HDR image that was processed using a combination of ACR and Photoshop -- includes the use of the following Topaz Labs plugins -- Adjust, Clean, Denoise, Glow, Impression, LensFX, and Texture Effects.
For the Macro Mondays theme "Line Symmetry".
The 'Origaliens', famous for their paper-shapeshifting are everywhere, so it seems ;-))
HMM everyone!!
A six-segment panorama of this beautiful reflection - what is missing are clouds. And this time of year, I would have loved to see snow. So this will be a scene I will reshoot in the future.
The Great Salt Lake - GPS is not the exact spot of the shot.
No comments today – just enjoy :-)

Boscombe Pier, taken on a crisp but cold February morning. I love the symmetry of the pier and also how the light changed the colours on either side.
If the world was black and white, everybody would be playing chess.

Yogodo Hall, close to Senso-ji. The name is given like that in English, but it's actually Yōgōdō (影向堂, and the last dō means hall).
To quote the English part of the sign just outside:
Yogodo hall was built in 1994 to commemorate the 1,200th anniversary of the birth of Ennin, the monk who established Senso-ji. Inside, statues of Bodhisattva Kannon, and of 12 protective Buddhas, each assigned to a particular year of the oriental zodiac cycle, are worshipped.
Ennin (円仁) lived 794-864 and was an important Buddhist priest of the Tendai school - and also known under his posthumous name of Jikaku Daishi (慈覺大師).
