Richard Morris Hunt Memorial
sculptor: Daniel Chester French, 1900
architect: Bruce Price
architectural style: Beaux-Arts, neoclassical
dedicated: Monday, October 31, 1898; Hunt’s birthday
The center piece of the Richard Morris Hunt Memorial is a larger than life size bust on stele of the famous architect. Below him is an allegorical figure in bas-relief, on a mosaic floor, approached by three steps. The back of the free-standing exedra supports decorative columns and a cornice and is flanked by French's allegorical, female statues.
To the right is "Architecture" holding a model of the World’s Columbian Exposition Administration Building. Opposite is "Painting and Sculpture" with a mallet in her right hand. Her left hand bears an artist’s palette and a figure of “Theseus” from the pediment of the Parthenon.

Some of the books I've got through this summer. All the Pretty Horses was the highlight of the summer and am half through reading it again, it was so beautifully written, please do try and read it if you get a chance - I can promise you won't be disapointed.
A quick crowd-pleaser from my Tewkesbury Abbey shots from a sunny Sunday trip into Gloucestershire. Weather was most unexpected, but no matter how sunny it is this church always seems to be gloom-filled. Don't be deceived by the light appearance here, this Norman church is a moody broody sort of place.
It was just after a service so there was incense still hanging in the air making the atmosphere a little misty for crisp photography, but terribly fragrant
Designed and folded by me
One uncut square of bananafiber paper 56x56 cm.
Finding a layout for this design was difficult. First, I used a diagonal symmetry, but then I realized that it would be better if I used a book symmerty, so I completely redid it. The design uses a simple 22.5 degree structure and one big graft to lengthen the legs and horns.
the model has a closed belly.
