Anderson, Indiana – Rain or shine the AIMS Little 500 Car Show is one of the top attractions anywhere at anytime. This year’s show was grand as ever in spit of the rain that visited Anderson, Indiana off and on during the morning and early afternoon.

AIMS’s, Lori Sylvester and crew, packed Meridian Street with some of the areas top vintage cars, trucks and coolest Hot-Rod’s which has become a trademark of this annual event which takes place each May just prior to the running of “The Greatest Spectacle on Earth” ,the Indianapolis 500.

This year’s event began with a 10k Run, 5k walk sponsored by the Anderson Road Runners Club. Some of the other activities were, kids art and craft activities sponsored by the Anderson Center for the Arts, face painting by the Anderson High School and a free movie at the Paramount Theater which was sponsored by the Anderson/Madison County Visitor's Bureau.

And if this wasn’t enough to make you glad you were there or wish you had of been there’s food, some of the best you’ll find anywhere including Good’s Chocolate and Brother’s Catering.

You know, maybe they ought to call this the AIMS’s Little 500 “The Greatest Spectacle in Anderson”. Why? Because it is.

He decided my son's backpack was the perfect place for his afternoon nap :).

Lewis T. Sylvester, son of Joseph and Susan Ellen (Rich) Sylvester, was born in 1863 in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire and died 2 May 1926 in Walpole, Massachusetts. He was married twice. In 1887, he married Georgia L. Brown (1868-1896). They had two children: Ella May (1889-1963) and Orville Lewis (1894-1961). On 14 Sep 1904, in Brunswick, Maine, he married Elizabeth Down “Lizzie” Hutchinson (1866-1941). They had a son, Forest Cumston (1905-1950). Lewis, Georgia and Elizabeth are buried in Growstown Cemetery, Brunswick, Maine. Photographer is G. B. Webber, Brunswick, Maine. Cabinet Card.

Anderson, Indiana (May 21, 2011) – The Little 500 Car Show has become one of Anderson, Indiana’s top downtown attractions. This year marked the 9th Annual Little 500 Downtown Car Show in Anderson. It might seem almost undoable to put together such an amazing event like the one today in our hard-hit economy. It just goes to prove what kind of spirit and resilience the people that live in Anderson, Indiana have. Today’s show was nothing less than terrific. The staff of AIMS said they had 115 registered entries for today’s car show. It would not surprise me if the actual number of cars on display was quit a bit more.

Put together each year by the staff of AIMS’s, under the leadership of Lori Sylvester and scores of volunteers, the AIMS Little 500 Car show brings together some of the areas top vintage cars, trucks and coolest Hot-Rod’s.

The Little 500 has also become another kind of showcase. On top of the wonderful automotive heritage on display throughout downtown it also brings together the greatest group of people you’ll find anywhere and they are the people who work and live in the Anderson, Indiana area.

This annual event takes place each May just prior to the running of “The Greatest Spectacle on Earth”, the Indianapolis 500. If you didn’t make it to this year’s event be sure to add it to your list of things to do next year.

Meine Frau will "no more Alcohol"

Ab einem gewissen Pegel ist Verweigerung angebracht.

So what do you do with such a car? After digging up some history on the car, the decision was made to more or less restore it to what it looked like in the 50's/60's.

Die Kleinen haben es nicht geschafft und verschliefen den Jahreswechesel.

i love it. he looks like a kitten again instead of the old fat cat he really is.

My older sister, Jo, got me a 50mm f1.8 lens for Christmas. So a lot of the following photos are taken with it. The narrow depth of field does make for some interesting photos, but the focus is hard to get right (and the auto-focus seems to be a bit unreliable).
