Earth Hour is a global event organized by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature, also known as World Wildlife Fund) and is held on the last Saturday of March annually, asking households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change.
Ojalá fuera cierto. Tan fácil. No lo es.
Desperdiciamos dinero defendiéndonos de nosotros mismos. Perdemos mucho tiempo. Hasta ese punto llega nuestra estupidez. El enemigo es otro. Pero no nos parece importar. El desarrollo tiene precios. Precios muy caros. Y los costeamos. Miles de millones en destruirnos. Y si el querer progresar tiene unos efectos secundarios y no los asumimos, estamos perdidos. Pero ¿qué se puede esperar de una raza que invierte en aniquilarse a sí misma?
La investigación médica debe ser una prioridad ¿por qué resultas más difícil conseguir ayuda a la investigación que aliados para una guerra o fondos para el desarrollo armamentístico? ¿De qué nos sirve seguir luchando, si llegará un día en el que no podamos recordar el motivo por el que luchábamos?
La sanidad, en primer lugar, necesita ser liberalizada. Todos debemos poder optar a la sanidad. ¿Por qué unas vidas merecen ser salvadas y otras no? ¿Quién tiene el poder de decidir eso? ¿Lo tenemos? o ¿creemos tenerlo? Una muestra de nuestra inteligencia y talento. Nuestros héroes empuñan armas. Siendo así, es comprensible todo esto.
Los laboratorios son nuestro futuro. Aunque tal vez tampoco sea tan importante salvar a una raza que quiere vivir más años para matarse en unas estúpidas guerras por unas supuestas... ¿propiedades?
A fin de cuentas, tal vez si que seamos nuestros propios enemigos. Sigamos invirtiendo en muerte. No quiero recordarnos.

This evening I dined by candlelight, turning out the lights and helping out in giving 5 minutes respite for the planet.
This action was started by some French environmental groups, including my colleagues at Friends of the Earth France, on the eve of the release of the big climate change report that's hopefully been all over your tv screens.
The action was originally aimed at French citizens to show their government they want action on climate change, but it seems they're not the only ones .
Apparently, they were even going to switch off the 10,000 light bulbs on the Eiffel Tower.
And it's spread to Brazil, Lithuania, Belgium and the Netherlands to name a few countries.
Sometimes my job makes me proud.

this was first time shooting snowboard this winter. after few tries the "rail" cracked and the batteries of one of my flashes didnt bear up the cold and strarted to switchoff th flash. next time i have to think up something to avoid that.
shot with three flashes, 2 metz's on both side of camera and sb600 on the back lighting the trees.
