The Historic El Rey Theater 02-23-2010 The Historic El Rey Theater 02-23-2010 ALL AGES: SWITCHFOOT with Paper Tongues! Tickets can be purchased for 5 in advance and 0 at the door the night of the show. Advance tickets can be purchased with cash only at Bookworks, Encore Music, and Birdland, but you can buy tickets with your credit or debit card by calling 1-866-I-GET-TIX (1-866-443-8849), and at gettix.net/concert/?event_id=3204 Service charge, facility fee, and/or handling fee may apply for advance tickets. Doors will be at 6:30 PM and the show will begin at 7:00 PM.
I had a bunch of Switchfoot shots on my hard drive from a show I shot a few months back - it was time for them to see the light of day!
These are all SOOC. I shot this show backstage, side stage - great for photos, but the sound quality sucks over there. Still, the guys always put on such a fun, energetic live show!
*TAKE INTO FACT I COULD NOT GET TEST SHOTS BEFORE I TOOK THIS SHOT OF THEM SO OVEREXPOSURER IS GOING TO HAPPEN NOR DID I HAVE LIGHTMODIFIERS
i went to the florida strawberry festival to see my *best in show piece for the photo contest there* and ended up going to the Switch Foot concert and before it i was wandering around with a few people and taking photos for my portfolio working with motion and candids when the vocalist from switchfoot found me back stage and we talked for a few minutes about tour and how much i appreciate what they do in witnessing thru their tours and music and i asked if i could take a photo or two candid wise and i didnt have time to switch lens so i used my 17-40mm at that moment
they played their set and again while back stage ran into the whole band and i asked if i could take a few natural light group shots for my portfolio yet again nicest guys ever gave me the green light to shoot away i had maybe a minute to shoot on rapid fire and this is my favorite
*also the side images bordering i took earlier that day and thats actually the ferris wheel on the midway strip of rides at around sunset, also i wanted it to look like a santmonica pier scape

Next Purchase will be my 70-200mm f2.8 usm L, i have about 85 percent saved for it so nearly mine, and a few weeks after this i have a lot of shoots in a 4 day period so next purchase will be a 35mm f1.4L or a Mamiya 645 afd 1 with 80mm f2.8.
