While not quite the most intricate switchboard ever, it sure does come close.
I forgot to mention that on Friday, Drew and I went over to Different Fur Studios in the Mission to do some promotional (I think?) photography for the band there. Got some pretty good shots of the studio, band, and their brand-new bamboo floors (despite what Drew might think). But the real kick was when we finished, they end up going "Well, we wanted to pay you..." and the rest is history.
Hurray! Our first real gig. Look out world, here come Yee/Masters!
EDIT: Okay, I just realized this is a mixing board, not a switchboard. It doesn't make the one in Lifted any less impressive, though.

“Blue Ridge Telephone Exchange”
“This Bell System made by Western Electric was original central phone system for the Blue Ridge Telephone Exchange. The system was located in this building, on the Depot Street side, first floor. The system was placed into service in early 1920’s and continued in use until approximately 1945.
It is believed that Jessie Mae Hickey arrived in Blue Ridge from Copperhill in 1923 at the age of 17. She became the central operator for Blue Ridge Telephone Exchange after being trained by Gusta Robinson. Jessie worked eight hours a day on this equipment and was paid $30.00 per month.
Evolution of the telephone has come a long way from the days when short lines were strung from residence to residence, users rang by turning the crank on their parlor phone, and neighbors along the line purposely listened in to find out the latest news.

Evidently Don thought he could train Rusty to answer the switchboard while he studied, but it just didn't work out. All he wanted to do was chew the cords.
