Happy Sweet Sunday everyone!

A treat from the new bakery that opened last week near my place, Bread & Roses Bakery, which has recently moved from one area of the neighbourhood to just up the street from me.

The treats looked delicious but not very esthetically pleasing. But hey if the food tastes good, I can forgive presentation.

I selected an apple pecan loaf to try today, I'm happy that a new bakery is around and that there's a new place to select from for Sweet Sundays, and they sell coffees and lattes so it will be nice to have a place to go after dinners for a caffeinated treat. My neighbourhood was severely lacking a coffee shop within walking distance so this is very exciting for me.

Hope everyone has had a good Sunday!

Yesterday was chaotic; it was down to Kingston to meet up with Sylvia and her three monsters at Chuck E. Cheese's; and after that madness it was time to go celebrate my Opa's 80th Birthday with the family at Milestones downtown Kingston.

It was a long day; out of the house by 8:30 and I didn't get back until after 11:00 that night. But well worth it and a lot of fun... although I think Chuck E. Cheese may have scarred me for life.

So today was much quieter; Nard and I hit the annual used book sale at the Rockcliffe community centre, which served as a reminder as to why we always brave the crowds and go first thing on Saturday and not wait until Sunday. I only managed to pick up 21 books total, instead of my usual 60-80. But oh well, missing the first day was worth it to spend the day with Opa and crew.

After the book sale we stopped in at Jacobson's to pick up something sweet; I had shot all of the desserts previously so we splurged on something extra and each picked up one of these Irish Cream chocolates. They were very tasty and served well for today's Sweet Sunday prop.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend.

Spent this Sunday puttering around the house getting things done at a leisurely pace, made a lasagne for dinner (see comments for a collection of photos), did some housework, managed a lot of shoveling and getting ready for the week ahead.

Work returns to normal this week as everyone comes back from holidays. I think I've actually become used to being the only one on the floor so it may be a bit of a shock to my system to have so many people around once again. It's been so silent it will be weird to have people talking and yelling once again.

Anyway, I hope everyone has had a good day and very Sweet Sunday.

With the heat being as bad as it has been lately and the humidity being as drastic as it has been the only option for this week's Sweet Sunday shot was a treatzza pizza from Dairy Queen.

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend, and if you're in a hot, hot area, managed to stay cool!

Happy Sweet Sunday everyone!

Today is feature a strawberry cheese cake from the Orlean's Bakery.

I was a little disappointed because the saleswoman packed the cakes in a box a little too shallow for the treats and the chocolate on the strawberries and cracked the chocolate on them. Otherwise though, on the non-appearance side of dessert, these were delicious, and just the right side!

Too lazy to edit this evening, so this is SOOC.

Happy (half-assed) sweet Sunday everyone.

I can't say I'm too pleased with this edition of Sweet Sunday, I was having a hard time getting the placement of the treat right, I've done so many like this one that it's getting difficult to find a new way to shoot each week.

I think I need to find different sweets to shoot, the bakeries around her all carry the same style foods so it's getting to be a bit mundane and more like a chore than anything. Maybe when the autumn comes I'll start baking for my weekly treat.

Otherwise, enjoying a mellow Sunday. Getting a few things done around the house, but not too much. Reality is back tomorrow so I may as well enjoy a quiet day. I'm thinking perhaps it may time to play some Mario this evening, it's been a long time since I had a game night in. It could be time.

Hope you're all enjoying your Sunday as well!

A gorgeous Sunday spent mostly outdoors. I ended up getting a head start on some of the autumn chores and have started clearing the dead and dried up flowers from the garden. I've also been working on hacking down a rotted out tree stump that hangs out in my front yard but that caused a pretty serious blister so I had to cease that for the day.

I'm thinking that after dinner tonight I may head back outside and rake up some of the fallen leaves; I'm not in much of a rush to get that done since I know more will be falling, but it would be a good excuse to be outside and enjoy some of the beautiful weather we've had today.

Shot my Sweet Sunday early on this morning, this week we're featuring Brownie Gingersnap Cheesecakes from Epicuria. This could be interesting.

Hope everyone has had a very sweet Sunday!

Sweet Sunday is featuring an expresso mousse cake.

Had a pretty jam-packed Sunday, moved a couch around the house, failed to get it into the basement... so now it's hanging out in my dining room. I am not moving it back upstairs. I offered it to a friend of a neighbour of mine, but he wasn't a fan of the yellow so another one of my neighbour is going to attempt to get the couch into his basement, he really likes the couch so he wants it either way. Thank goodnes, I just want it out of the house at this point.

Hit up Ikea to pick up a bed frame and mattress for the spare room, that was when my bestie comes to visit next weekend she has her own room :) She's using the trip up as a mini vacation and I figured a room to herself would be a nice treat for her :)

So now it's getting late, and I'm going to say good night. If I haven't had a chance to catch up with your stream yet, I'll be catching up tomorrow :)

Hope everyone has had an amazing Mother's Day.

Happy Sweet Sunday everyone! Today's treat is a Pistachio chocolate mousse from Farm Boy, which, according to Nard was delicious.

Finally, we've been having a bad few weeks with finding our Sunday desserts not being to either of our tastes, so it was nice to finally have something enjoyable again.

It's been a busy day, more gardening, sorting through things in the basement and some window shopping this afternoon with my folks. I was hoping to find a new pair of walking shoes, but the shoes I liked weren't in my size, so I guess I'll go look in a few more places soon. I'm running out of time with my current shoes, there's a hole in the canvas so they need to be replaced as soon as possible.

I hope you've all had wonderful Sunday's.

Sunday; a day for shopping and sweets. Well, not every week but that was what was on the schedule this week.

Picked Mom up this morning to do a little bit of clothing shopping and she ended up super spoiling me; two new skirts, two new shirts and a new dress! I'm super excited because they're all really cute and need to be worn. I just need to figure out shoes for the outfits and I'll be set!

After a little bit of girl time shopping, we met Dad at the mall and enjoyed a latte and snack together before wandering the mall a bit; found a few things I'll be keeping an eye on in hopes they go on sale; but no must haves at the mall. Dad went into the bookstore to pick something up and I found a vegetarian slow cooker recipe book there on sale for $5.00! Hope there's some good ideas in there, slow cooker meals are so simple and tasty during the week!

Today's sweet Sunday is brought to you by Epicuria, a triple chocolate ganache . I liked the design in the chocolate ganache and the ribbons of chocolate sitting on top, here's hoping it's as good as it looks!

Hope everyone has had a very sweet Sunday.

Can you believe that we're only 100 days away from finishing 2013? It's a little unnerving just how quickly this year has been passing by. It does feel like I'm in a constant countdown, for instance, right now I'm counting down to my next trip to Knoxville (19 more sleeps). I'm not entirely sure what the countdown will be for when I return though; Halloween maybe, or perhaps I'll look further into the future and countdown to Christmas. Can you believe that's even on the radar?

A quick Sweet Sunday this week; I picked up these cookies from a Kiosk at the mall yesterday, they're fudge filled white chocolate shortbread cookies; I'm looking forward to dessert tonight! I'm a huge fan of shortbread cookies!

Hope everyone has had a lovely Sunday.

A fairly busy Sunday as I caught up with housework and laundry and prepared for yet another work week.

Started the day with breakfast with my folks, a rare treat; and then picked up Fyero, who had been staying at their place while Sylvia and crew were up visiting, coming back home Fyero and I went through the drive thru at Second Cup; she didn't want anything but was patient while we waited.

Today's sweet Sunday is brought to you by the Orlean's bakery; chocolate raspberry ganache tart. My was very Raspberry tasting and Nard said his had a hint of caramel. Interesting, since they were supposed to be the same.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Sweet Sunday!

Happy Sweet Sunday everyone, and Happy Father's day to all the Dad's out there, specifically mine!

Today included an impromptu cleaning of the oven after yesterday's disaster in the kitchen, which lead to cleaning the stove, which lead to cleaning the fridge and so on and on.

So not the most relaxing of Sunday's but my kitchen is sparkling clean.

Went out this morning to pick up some stuff for dinner and noticed this coffee cake marked down. I had attempted to make one yesterday (which failed miserably) so I figured why not. I'm looking forward to trying this one, apparently it's hazelnut infused. Could be might tasty.

Hope everyone has had a good Sunday.

I woke up this morning thinking a lazy Sunday around the house would be nice, and I had every intention of having a lazy day, but one thing lead to another and now I have spotless fridge and oven, my suitcase is almost entirely packed for my upcoming vacation and the laundry has actually been put away.

I still managed time to watch a show I haven't had the chance to catch up with lately, two more episodes to go and I'll be up to date. I'm hoping that by the time my flight leaves on Friday I'll be caught up.

I'm still getting used to streaming shows vs watching them on the PVR at my leisure. I have to remember to watch the shows I like within a certain amount of time, otherwise they'll disappear from the sites and it would be a bugger to find them elsewhere. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it in time, I've only been without cable for two months and really, the new season of shows has only just begun.

Anyway; hope everyone has had a sweet Sunday; today's treat is a Blueberry Mousse cake from the Orleans Bakery. Nard seemed to enjoy it so not only was it pretty, but tasty too! Bonus!

I was hoping to find a sweet specific to Knoxville this week; but that didn't seem to be a viable option because I couldn't quite figure out what the city is known for.

Instead I ended up at Starbucks and was elated to see that they still serve the classic coffee cake I like so much here.

An excellent treat for today.

Spent the majority of today working in Photoshop trying to get the photos I took of the famjam yesterday done and processed, it took much too long but I did manage to finish. Now to actually burn them onto a disc and mail them to the appropriate people.

Yesh, they're really forcing me to get not be so lazy about photography... I kid. But I do tend to procrastinate when it comes to processing shoots so I knew I had to sit my butt down today and do it or months would pass before they were done.

So it was all and all a fairly quiet day, which isn't a bad way to spend a Sunday. I took a quick walk this morning up to Epicuria to grab my sweet Sunday treat, but that was about it today. I spent the day either immersed in Photoshop or getting things done around the house.

Now to catch up on Flickr (if it doesn't crash again) and spend the rest of the night relaxing before the work week is upon me once more!

Hope everyone has had a good Sunday.

It must be Sunday...

I'm having a very productive day today, I don't know where this energy is coming from because I barely slept last night, but I'm not going to argue. The more I can get done today, the more I can enjoy my last day off tomorrow.

Had a photoshoot with a Mother and Son this morning, went for a latte, made some banana bread, cleaned the kitchen, prepared everything for dinner and got my photo of the day done early! How unusual for a Sunday, normally I find that Sunday's are my sluggish day. I guess being away from the office for a few days is re-energizing!

Today's photo is a Passion-fruit Mousse from the Orleans Bakery. I don't know why it's called Passion-fruit when it's a blackberry and a kiwi on top, but who am I to argue with the baker?

Sweet Sunday

Have no worries my friend, even though I didn't use this for my 366 project, I couldn't resist my usual Sweet Sunday shot. I can't remember which this is, it's Sylvia's dessert and she doesn't seem to remember either, but I'm sure whatever it is, she'll find it delicious :)

Happy Sweet Sunday everyone! Can't wait to see who does a sweet Sunday photo today.

Figured I would take advantage of the nice light coming through the window this morning and shoot my photo pretty early in the day. It's strange that it's only 9 and my daily task is done. I wonder what I'll do with the rest of my last day away from work.

Today's dessert is featuring a kiwi mousse from the Orleans Bakery. I think I'm going to need to find a new bakery soon, I'm almost out of tarts, cheesecakes, mousses and desserts from this one to shoot.

Hope everyone is off to a great start today!

A fairly busy Sunday left me rushing to get today's Sweet Sunday photo done before dinner time. I'm not entirely happy with the composition and the way I've processed this one, but I just couldn't save it in a way that really worked for me. It will have to do for today's photo though because the prop is gone.

This week's sweet is a Caramel Latte Mousse Tart from Jacobson's. I believe enjoyed it, I don't think he left a piece on his plate so it must have been at least somewhat tasty.

Spent the majority of the day out shopping for glasses with Ma. I didn't find any that really suited me, but Mom did really well, finding herself a new pair of everyday spectacles and a pair of sunglasses as a bonus!

When I finally returned home it was time to make dinner quickly and shoot while the sauce was simmering.

Now it's time for me to get ready for the work week; I'm at the office for five days this week. That's going to be tough, last week was a three day work week and the week before was only four days. Five is going to be rough.

Hope everyone has had a good day.
