Earlier we bought some nice pieces of crystal art from Kosta Boda:

“Fidji vase” by Kjell Engman.

"Beans" Blue Limited Edition by Bertil Vallien (Artist collection)

In addition a original "Dalapaard" to make it a Swedish art composition.

The Dala horse (Swedish: dalahäst) is a horse made of wood that is a symbol of the Dalarna landscape in Sweden, or nowadays by extension also of the whole of Sweden.

The wooden horses come in all sizes and are mostly made in Nusnäs, near Mora. Most horses are red and they are often painted by hand. The horses have been made since the 17th century. In Nusnäs there is a museum where, among other things, it is shown how the horses are made.

Earlier we bought some nice pieces of crystal art from Kosta Boda “Fidji vase” by Kjell Engman, in addition we bought a special one.

“Fidji Red, a 30th anniversary edition , only 300 made.”

April, 28-2023 in EXPLORE !

The absolute best spot at my aunt’s place in Gränna. This glass-enclosed veranda lets us enjoy the spectacular Jönköping sanctuary, from vibrant autumn trees to the vast waters, in perfect comfort. Sun, sky, and Swedish stillness.

I could stay in this spot all day. That blue sky reflecting in the glass is simply magnificent. Thank you for making me feel so at home, dear Aunt…

Earlier the month we added this nice piece to our Kosta Boda collection:

“Headman” by Bertil Vallien

Headman blue by Bertil Vallien, from Kosta Boda Artist Collection, is shaped in glass with silver leaf forming the face at the core of the object.

Headman is hand-made at Kosta Glassworks and mounted on an iron plinth.

Last march we added this nice piece to our Kosta Boda collection.

An air bubble captured in a egg. Looking into the crystal ball while lying on one's back.

Shaped by hand on the glassblower's pipe.

Face coated with genuine silver.

A glimpse into our kitchen cabinet. I just love these colours...

A turquoise glimpse of our kitchen cabinet. The bowls to the right were bargains at about $1.25 each. I got the mugs and the bowl to the left when I donated blood. You can choose from several things, including this lovely china called Swedish Grace. Unfortunately the lovely china wasn't worth the agony, dizziness and pain so I've stopped donating blood. But I'm very happy about those pieces anyway.

This spectacular stone reminds me of a iceberg maybe far out in the Antarctic Ocean, sparkling white ice and so gorgeous view.

This is a stylish and small but still very original ring.

Perfect for you who like to wear jewelry that are unique and stand out but still keep the elegant look..

Antarctica - Quartz and sterling silver ring

This spectacular stone reminds me of Antarctica, sparkling white ice and so gorgeous view.

This ring is BIG and the stone is rough. Perfect for you who like jewelry that are unique and stand out.

For: Marie (manwinmodesty). :)

You're all invited!

From the collaboration I did last year with the designer Linnéa Woxinger Sköld. I choose the title of the photograph because she´s actually wearing a bear over her shoulders, though it´s not a real one I promise :)

I've been wanting to make a proper slide for my homepage for a while and finally had the time for it over Easter.

The chalkboard background provides a good contrast with my white and simplistic website, and I'm happy with the whole retro/voyage theme. Made with photoshop.

Designed a new logo for my shop and made this stamp.

For this stamp I used Brilliance Mediterranean Blue (left), Rocket Red and VersaMagic Aegean Blue (the one printed on wood). I will be taking pictures and transform theming digitally to make the logo.

Eltham Palace (1933-1936) - Art Deco entrance hall

See location of room in palace here:

www.english-heritage.org.uk/siteassets/home/visit/places-...

The original Eltham Palace was a medieval moated palace which had been the childhood home of Henry VIII, that, having fallen into disrepair, was transformed in a glorious Art Deco home for the Courtauld family.

Perhaps the most dramatic interior is the entrance hall, created by the Swedish designer Rolf Engströmer. Its walls are lined with blackbean veneer and decorated by Jerk Werkmäster (SWE, October 1, 1896, Utanåker, Rättvik - April 11, 1978 i Rättvik) with marquetry that includes figures of a Viking holding a halberd standing opposite a Roman soldier holding a pike, set against background scenes from Italy and Scandinavia.

Another Swede, Eric Grate, provided two plaques above the entrance depicting scenes from Alice in Wonderland.

Replicas made in 1999 by N.E.J. Stevenson Ltd. of the original Engströmer furniture, upholstered in white matelasse, re-create the entrance as it once was.

The stupendous 6m wide Marian Dorn designed carpet at its center is a curatorially accurate 1999 re-make made in Ireland by Donegal Carpets of the 1932 original circular hand-knotted woollen pile on a jute warp carpet by the Wilton Royal Carpet Factory Ltd. (now in the Victoria and Albert Museum - Ref Nr CIRC.48-1970):

The rug has a directional design of concentric and non-continuous segments crossed by radiating motifs of parallel, curved and straight stripes in red-browns, pinkish beige and fawn.

Working at MPB Photographic, a camera company in Brighton, England. The host family I stayed with resided in kemptown, a small area to the east side of Brighton.

Baby Emma is here. We like her a lot.

"this is just to say" stamps

Set up the tripod and took a bunch of photos for the upcoming stamp tutorial/carving tool review.

It was harder than I thought, taking pictures of my own hands while sketching and carving; but I like the subtle shadow the tripod casts.

Here scenes depicting the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence and the Santa Maria della Salute in Venice are representing the Italian cityscapes loved by the Courtaulds.
