I took a nostalgic walk today that I'd wanted to do on New Year's Eve, but the land was flooded then.
It was about re-connecting with my younger self when I lived and worked in this area, today taking familiar paths and finding new ones.
A sushi bar was not what I was expecting to find on the Grand Union canal. I also found a meditation retreat.

as early night descends on the streets of barcelona, the glow of a sushi sign cuts through the dimming light, a beacon for the culinary curious. inside, framed by the window, a sushi chef is an artist in his element, his movements a quiet sonnet against the backdrop of the city's twilight hum. his world is a cocoon of warm light and sharper focus as day gives way to night, where every roll is a meticulous masterpiece, every slice a deliberate delicacy. the neon "sushi" sign, a crimson arch above, watches over his dance of dedication—a harmonious blend of tradition and the pulsating heartbeat of barcelona after dusk.
Because of course I had ordered this one. If they had one called Tuna Turner, I would've ordered that one in a heart beat.
If you had ever looked back at past uploads on my photostream, you'll take notice that I have an affinity; perhaps, an obsession for sushi. On a good day where I can acquire a very good workout, I can probably dominate this entire spread. Today, I'm sharing this with a buddy since all that I've done today was sit behind a desk.
Upscale Apartment/Condominium + Ice Cream Shop + Sushi bar and Grill. Full interior and my 2nd largest MOC yet.
Ended up going the sushi route this evening. With this spread, you're looking at Rachael Ray's daily allowance of food-spending-money, likely due to the Toro nigiri.
Growing up on this stuff, I had developed an undying love for sushi; however, as of late, I haven't been eating a whole lot of carbs (once per week). I do feel it is crucial for me to have at least a pound of seafood per week and sashimi is always an option, but to have it with seasoned rice is such a delightful treat. Why not splurge a little on this special evening?
What's on tonights menu?
Tamago
Ikura
Uni
Toro
Sake
Spicy Tuna garnished with masago.
One of the buildings I'm bringing to Brickworld 2016. Sidewalk tilework is changed slightly to accommodate the new sidewalk designs, but other than that it's the same building since 2012.
