This is how I felt after my knee surgery. Now after two surgeries I need both knees replaced, I guess it will just have to wait....

In preparation for my post surgery recovery I purchased some estate photos to play around with while I am home. SO in April I will most likely be loading a lot of old photos.
This one came in a family set of photographs from Michigan. I have photos of these kids from this age to the teen years. It is a shame that they got sold. But then again, I got them now so they will have a second life for a while.
The back of the photo says: Billy - Bonnie & Mike, Autumn 1957" -- that means the little guy is my age (I was born August of 1956). It reallly is a nice portrait.
Poor little fella knew no fear when he took on a big dog.
The surgery was a success thanks to the skills of the vet and assistants.
He's purring like a V8 and should be home soon.
Last summer, we released pallid sturgeon implanted with sonic radio transmitters into the Missouri River. This was done as part of a catchability research project. The radio transmitters allowed biologists to locate the fish and attempt to recatch them, therefore helping evaluate the effectiveness of their sampling gear.
Here is one of the sturgeon receiving surgery before leaving the hatchery.

My interpretation of The Twilight Zone episode "The Eye of the Beholder"...I tend to think that even doll collecting falls into some of the tendencies of that episode, as there are so many facets (and dolls) within the hobby and some folks just can't see eye to eye, so to speak. The big-headed girls are endeared by some by detested by others, and the pinheads have their lovers and loathers as well. In my image, Elsie Blythe strives to be as timeless as the more classically humanized dolls, only to fail time and again.
(Not intended to start a war of the fans of either doll in particular--I love both! Besides, Blythe has an easier head to bandage! *wink*)

Well, since I was up and had to keep my mind occupied.. after I finished my arm, I decided to do my feet!
Here you can see the ducts of the pancreas. These are NOT how insulin leaves the pancreas. The pancreas makes both hormones, which are emptied right into the blood stream, and it also makes digestive enzymes that are released into the pancreatic ducts, which in turn empties into the small intestine. The 'duodenum' is the first part of the small intestine, and you can imagine the stomach just off the top part of the duodenum above.
Monash University Clinical Teaching is organised so that medical students attend one of the Southern Clinical School (Monash Medical Centre, Clayton & Moorabbin, Dandenong Hospital or Frankston Hospital), the Central & Eastern Clinical School (Alfred, Box Hill, Cabrini or Maroondah) or the Rural Clinical School (Bendigo, Mildura, Traralgon, Bairnesdale or Sale). Integrated medical and surgical teaching is provided in Year 3 of the new curriculum.
Taken at one of the history ship in Baltimore inner harbor. This room was used to perform surgery for those wounded soliders on this war ship. That light is the surgery light. that bed is where the wounded soldier rest. it is located 3rd floor down from the deck, pretty scarey place.

While laying back, I peek at my now-naked foot, proclaim, "COOL!" and sit up to take a photo. I'm not at all nauseous or squeemish. I count 10 stiches, a LOT of swelling, and a little bruising just starting. You can also see the faded X with a circle around it on the top of my foot. Prior to surgery, he used a special marker to identify that surgery was happening on that foot. If you squint, you can also see a smaller X on the side of my foot where the bunion bump used to be.
