Panneau : Huile sur panneau de bois
Cadre : chêne sculpté et vestiges de polychromie
Au registre inférieur de ce Puy, on reconnait le traditionnel portrait de groupe avec le donateur en prière, Laurent Le Boulengier.
Au-dessus, une Vierge à l'Enfant garde l'entrée d'un temple surmonté par Dieu le Père.
Le palinod évoque donc le rôle de soutien et d'aide de la Vierge pour le fidèle dans son chemin vers Dieu.
Le Puy de 1521, malgré sa qualité, a subi de nombreux dommages rendant son appréciation assez difficile.
Une restauration récente lui rend néanmoins sa lisibilité en restituant en grisaille les parties perdues.

Seen at the 999 Rescue Day held at Crowle in Humberside/North Lincolnshire. Emergency services were in attendance from many counties in the north to this very well supported event in aid of Help The Heroes and to highlight what the rescue and emergency services do each and every day.
This vehicle is from the South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
This is a new design for Grizzly Mountain Arts! Dave has crafted the beautiful 1 7/8 inch acorn whorl of this support spindle from poplar. Pyrography, burn etching, was used to create the details on the acorn's cap. The 11 1/2 inch long shaft was created from walnut and the weight of this spindle in 51 grams (1.8 ounces).

We were stuck inside Nigg Energy Park in Scotland for a few days while I was at work on the ship. Luckily I managed to go for a couple of walks with the camera in hand, which only did me good. I sort of like this one. Done with one of the Nikon FM2 cameras on Ilford PAN400.
Tugboat Nancy Anne tied up to a barge full of equipment to assist in the salvage operation involving the pumping out of petroleum products from the barge Argo that sunk in Lake Erie in 1937. Tug and barge are tied up along the Huron River in Huron, Ohio the Argo was discovered this past fall located offshore on the bottom of Lake Erie.

Science Support Vehicle (SSV). A Ford E-Series van modified by engineers in Iceland. The SSV has six independently driven wheels powered by a "low emission" 7.3-litre turbo-diesel V8. The support vehicle has a 20-speed transmission, rides on an air suspension and has solar panels on the roof to help power the electronics which include GPS and satellite communications.

This Moc was created in academic way to show how complicated the process of desalination of sea water and how best to preserve our natural sources of freshwater.
This project does not follow strictly the original design but serves to draw attention to the care of the water.
Desalination, desalinization, or desalinisation refers to any of several processes that remove some amount of salt and other minerals from saline water. More generally, desalination may also refer to the removal of salts and minerals, as in soil desalination.
Salt water is desalinated to produce fresh water suitable for human consumption or irrigation. One potential byproduct of desalination is salt. Desalination is used on many seagoing ships and submarines. Most of the modern interest in desalination is focused on developing cost-effective ways of providing fresh water for human use. Along with recycled wastewater, this is one of the few rainfall-independent water sources.
Large-scale desalination typically uses large amounts of energy and specialized, expensive infrastructure, making it more expensive than fresh water from conventional sources, such as rivers or groundwater.
Desalination is particularly relevant to countries, such as Australia, which traditionally have relied on collecting rainfall behind dams to provide their drinking water supplies.
According to the International Desalination Association, in 2009, 14,451 desalination plants operated worldwide, producing 59.9e6 cubic metres (2.12×109 cu ft) per day, a year-on-year increase of 12.3%.[4] It was 68 million m3 in 2010, and expected to hit 120 million m3 by 2020; some 40 million m3 is planned for the Middle East. This creation is based on the wonderful BBC drama "Sherlock", a contemporary update of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's world famous detective Sherlock Holmes.
The set recreates the consultation room from 221 B Baker St., the apartment of Mr. Sherlock Holmes. This version uses about 630 pieces. I think the set should come with a sticker sheet for the mirror, rug fireplace and wallpaper. The set was designed with the adult collector and/or fan of the show in mind and so accuracy in matching the set was a priority. There are a number of building techniques employed throughout the set and I believe it would be an enjoyable build.
This set will feature three mini figures: the brilliant Sherlock Holmes, his faithful companion John Watson and Sherlock's landlord Mrs. Hudson.

About this photograph.
During the Clap for Our Carers gesture on Thursday evening, those two girls and their family stepped outside, but instead of clapping, they showed their support for the NHS (National Health Service) with a live music performance.
As you can see in the photos, one of the girls is seen playing the violin while the other girl does the singing.
I have no idea what they were singing about, nor do I know what music they played. It looked like a slow singing, maybe classic music.
In the tighter framed photos, the man in the T-shirt with sunglasses, and leaning against a car is their father. In the wider shots, the woman on the other side of the road, seen taking photos, is their mother.
You may notice a few other people stepping out of their homes, to take part in the clapping as show of support, watching the live performance.
The viewpoint was from one of my bedroom windows, as I took the photos of what was going on. I later went to their house, to seek permissions from the parents if I wanted to publish the photos, and they agreed.
Why I took the photographs?
Starting in February of 2020, my oldest child moved out to live independent, while the other child lived with the mother, I was finally free to try to restart my photography career, and if needed by going freelance. But only about a month later, in March, the United Kingdom went into a national lockdown in order to combat against the rising cases of the coronavirus, which put my plans on hold.
It was at that time I decided to try to get serious with Flickr, having registered in 2015, but been inactive for almost 5 years until I restarted using it in 2020. I was trying to find photos to upload and all that.
On that day, a Thursday at 8pm, it was time for the usual every Thursday event, to step outside and clap in show of our support for our NHS. I find it much easier to go upstairs, open the window at the front of the house, lean out and clap. From this position I can see other people clapping.
This was when I saw the family stepping outside, and setting up their small performance. That was when I went to grab my Nikon, and started trying to take photojournalism style photos as my skills are rather somewhat rusty and I could do with some new practise.
After taking the photos, I had to go over to their home, and informed their parents that I do photography, and wanted to check with them if I could have permissions to post my photos on my various profiles (not just Flickr, but also other accounts like with Adobe, etc.) The father agreed to give me permissions. I also gave them as many copies of the photos too.
About the subject.
The Clap for Our Carers event was a social movement carried out every Thursdays between March to May in 2020, in the United Kingdom as a gesture of appreciation and show of support for Britain’s National Health Service (NHS).
The idea came from Europe, likely to be either Italy and/or Spain which had lockdowns before the UK did.
On Thursdays, people would either step outside their front doors, or lean outside their windows, and give a round of applause. But some people have been taken to banging pots and pans, or playing music.
The event was meant to show our support for doctors and nurses, along with other hospital staff, but later included our show for other key workers, health services, ambulance crews, delivery drivers, waste collectors, and any other key workers who have to work during the lockdown.
In the fight against the coronavirus known as Covid-19.

The 2011 White Pass Rotary Run would not have been possible without the assistance of several dozen support personnel and multiple work trains bringing supplies up the hill. Eleven years into the 21st Century, the infrastructure to support 3 steam engines in the wilderness of Alaska and British Columbia is pretty much non-existent. Diesel-powered work trains were needed to haul and position water and fuel tankers in strategic places, and to bring up heavy equipment such as bulldozers and backhoes, to support the rotary plow train.
One such strategic location is the spot you see here. This is Glacier Siding, just about 14 miles out of Skagway and 6 miles from White Pass Station. On each day of the operation, the Rotary Fleet would stop here to top off their supplies of fuel and water before beginning their assault on the "Canadian Concrete" at the top of the hill. Here, the fleet is seen pulling into Glacier, as viewed from the back platform of our passenger train. The train's "pit crew" can be seen on the extreme right, standing next to the water tanker. Shortly, the train will stop and fire hoses will be hoisted to the tenders of Rotary #1, as well as Locomotives #73 and #69. Pumps will then be started and while they wait for the tanks to fill, the crews will inspect and lubricate their equipment. Although the White Pass Crew had not run the rotary in several years, they functioned like a well-oiled machine during this event. Clearly, they'd planned the operation well. Not only that, but the 113 year-old rotary performed flawlessly too. Over the course of 4 days, this machine ran as hard as it ever did back in the day, and had no mechanical failures and no derailments.....although I did see it hop up and down a time or two as it collided with that "Canadian Concrete."
