Mr Spock delights in having his food next to the computer so he can eat and offer computer supervision
xena works hard supervising food preparation in the kitchen waiting patiently off to the side to see if she needs to help me with anything
As I am not at home at the moment, I am not able to process the images from my Hadrian's Wall trip properly. But I have some nice images from a recent trip to a nearby museum, the so called Neanderthal Museum. It is located at the exact same valley where the bones of the Neanderthal were found. As I you can imagine, this museum is all about the Neanderthals and the evolution of mankind.
In this shot, you can see a statue of a Neanderthal dressed like a modern man, leaning on the banister of the museums staircase. They did that to demonstrate how similar the Neanderthals were to us. In fact, if you don't look closely you won't see any difference to a modern day man.
Enjoy!
My Meowma keeps getting distracted! Man is she lucky to have me around to keep her on track, said Frodo...
Happy Caturday everyone!

In fact she does a little nap on the warm stones :-)

Just kidding.
The theme for Happy Caturday this week is Cats Supervising and I didn't encounter a single cat who was feeling in charge of anything. Milo (left) and Mickey are the furthest things from supervisors or leaders that you can get. They are quintessential followers. They don't initiate anything - they don't ask for food, or to get out of their cages or for attention. They don't engage with other cats, seemingly unaware that there are even other cats in the room. They don't emote - no hissing, no purring, no dilating eyes when excited, no making mushy paws, no playfulness. They are mellow to the point of being furry automatons. When I walk into the boarding room they instantly get up and walk to me and then just stand there, waiting for me to make the next move. Their expressions are always blank - no excitement, no fear, no anger, no bliss.
Milo and Mickey are unlike any other cats I've ever met and they make me laugh every single, solitary time I look at them. They lounge around waiting for life to happen. If it doesn't, they lounge around some more, and wait a little longer.
Happy Caturday: Supevisors
She's not so much supervising as she is knocking things off the nightstand so I will get out of bed. She also likes to bring me toys and then sit on the nightstand and wait for me to throw them so she can play chase. Happy Caturday!
I had our full dinner-and-bridge group over sunday - 6 guests! All vaccinated! This meant I had to move Tikki's giant scratching post and some other furniture, and take the 'protection against cat' padding off the otherwise would be nice-looking comfy chair... I put the giant scratching post back first and she immediately got on top and watched me complete my restoration of the living/dining area to its 'correct and approved' confirmation. I thought this was hilarious and sent a photo to the bridge folks, the majority of whom are dog people more than cat people and didn't realize how much cats dislike furniture moving. Tikki looked so determined that I figured I'd keep the photo.
Fun to watch mama mallard and her quackling nosh on a water lily! Had some focus issues for some reason but posting anyway.

Black Cat: "Do your job well until I can see myself reflected in the pot..."
TOMIE: "Or what? Introduce yourself first before you give me instructions, Pussy!"
Black Cat: "How rude! My name is Bajun when I show my true form - but then you would be very tiny. Like a flea..."
TOMIE: "You are the companion of Baba Jaga?"
BAJUN: "Yes and no! My place is usually on an island, but I often wander around here and make sure that work is done carefully. I still can not see myself reflected. Wait a minute, I smell a bear that has no business here... Just you wait!"
TOMIE: [thinks] "Oh no! Not Bruno! He will have smelled the food for the witch from before... Oh if only his friends could stop him. Sigh!"
