In the technoshamanic context** ritual space acts as a crucible for Gaia. dissolving or trance-gressing the supernature of boundaries between ordinary and shamanic realities, between culture, nature and the magikk

metaxic monad.

From the Greek words meaning "beyond location singularity," that is a point that is everywhere and nowhere at the same time, a metaxic monad is simply a magick circle. By giving our magick circle a very precise definition, we clearly delineate its function.

Within this unique type of space, we have the opportunity to align ourselves with the deeper processes of the cosmos. Since space/time is folded back into an embedded hyper-sphered cube, any and every event becomes archetypal, and therefore universally resonant. Events within a metaxic monad effect all realities simultaneously, hence its magickal qualities.

A couple of my favourites sculptures by Jenny Pickford, which were on display in the grounds of The Courts Gardens, Holt as part of her 'SuperNature' exhibition.

here is Jean-Marc Cerrone today. Who is Cerrone, you ask? Well let's say it plainly: but for his 1970s disco works -- LOVE IN C MINOR, SUPERNATURE, "Trippin' On the Moon" chiefly, but there is A LOT more -- there would be no trance, no Italo disco, no techno. And house itself would sound very different. All of Cerrone's work is still available, as a reissue, on CD. Buy them!

Goldfrapp - New Single and Album

March 2010

Genre-smashing musical pioneers Goldfrapp announce their brand new album 'Head First', to be released through Mute on 22nd March 2010. This will be preceded by the fantastic new single 'Rocket’ on 8th March.

‘Head First' is Goldfrapp's most powerful trip to date, a speedy rush of synth optimism, euphoria, fantasy and romance. With life affirming lyrics and stellar production it lifts off at full tilt and takes us on a journey to the heart of 2010.

The duo's fifth album, 'Head First' is written and produced by band mates Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory and was recorded throughout 2009 in Bath and in London.

Fizzy with inspiration, the brand new single ‘Rocket’ is a goose-bump brilliant tune destined to float out of radios across the land.

The diversity, ambition and direction of the new album highlights Goldfrapp as true agenda-setters and modern British musical icons. ‘Head First' follows the critically acclaimed ‘Seventh Tree’, which saw the NME describe Goldfrapp as ‘having done the seemingly impossible and become even more fantasy fabulous’ and as ‘sublime, anthemic pop’ by The Independent. 'Head First' is the latest in a brilliantly consistent body of work - from the captivating electronic balladry of Mercury nominated debut 'Felt Mountain' and its distorted-dancefloor follow-up, ‘Black Cherry' to the glitterball glamour of ‘Supernature’ which came out in summer 2005 and went on to sell over a million copies worldwide.

Goldfrapp will take 'Head First' on tour later in 2010 - following the massive acclamation for both the Supernature and Seventh Tree tours and festival appearances around the world, Goldfrapp have underlined their reputation as one of the most transcendent and inventive live bands around.

Alison's mesmerizing, which is a good job as she clearly isn't one for chatting or engaging! She was never lit from the front, only from above and behind, and it was visually stunning. Her band constructing gorgeous soundscapes, most of the sounds live but with a Mac providing some assistance with additional sequencing. I loved the sampled acoustic guitar interplay with the actual guitar, which made Drew and Clowns so amazing. A truly excellent and exquisite night out, with pretty much all of the new album - possibly all of it - thrown in right at the start, and halfway through the final song the light show gently came on, and stayed on as we strayed into familiar Seventh Tree territory - then the lights went bananas as the psychedelic drum break in Little Bird kicked in, and suddenly were into 'stuff you know and love', the entire light show beamed at the audience for maximum WHOAHness, with the barnstorming bouncy dance numbers from Supernature thrown in for good measure. But no Ooh La La - she must be sick of playing it. And - OH NO!!! - no A & E. But everything else you would wish for. Except Caravan Girl, I would have enjoyed that one as well. But with a full rock-out on Strict Machine to close the show, they didn't disappoint on any level, it was fabulous. I would love to see the next tour be even braver - slow stuff, bouncy stuff to close the show then nothing but quiet encores to remind us of how hypnotic the first half was.
