A blue hour shot of the North Yorkshire fishing village of Staithes with the 'super blue blood moon' rising over the sea.
It was an absolutely freezing night on Cowbar but beautiful and well worth watching the sun set.
The first Supermoon in 2023 was hidden behind thick clouds in the night, glad i managed to get it in the morning with the warm sun glow before sunrise ..
Wishing all my friends in USA a very special "Happy 4th of July" with the Supermoon shining bright for all!
Nice clear night to get a shot of the city and a shot of the moon and "bleed" them together. This is deliberately a bit tongue-in-cheek and "artistic licence" with the size of it.
Taken a few days ago from the side of the road coming down from Porters Pass. Taken with my telephoto lens to get some of that compression effect Taken a couple of minutes after the image I posted a few days ago. The sky turned really wicket that evening.
Almost impossible to make this photo in one take, but for tech geeks, here is the backstory: we have a couple barred owls that come out of the woods at dusk and sit in the same tree every night over the chicken coop and who-who with Lynn. . .when the moon came up in the Eastern sky it was huge -- but not pink, just a slightly larger than normal full moon. The owl was photographed with fill flash, but it washed out the moon and without the flash, the owl was just a dark blob, so we combined the two images for this composite photo. A blessed Easter weekend to everyone.
