Great Moon over Menden (GER). Two shot combined in PS. One shot 30", the other one 1/60 to catch the moon- details
Supermoon from Middle England, November 14th 2016.
November 14's full moon is the closest for 70 years. The distance of the moon from the Earth is 221,524 miles.
The closest full moon of the whole of the 21st century will fall on December 6, 2052....I've put it in my diary!! :)))

Shot with the D7200. Winds were strong, so some camera shake, even on the tripod
Same position as the other photo, but 450mm effective focal length and opposite direction.

Thankful that i can catch the last supermoon of 2020 rising from dark clouds just after sunset from my blacony....keep safe my friends..
From a couple nights ago. It was amazing. Photo does not do justice.
Next time a tripod and manual focus will be part of the routine.
The whole scene happens so fast and you really have to be ready.
A blue hour shot of the North Yorkshire fishing village of Staithes with the 'super blue blood moon' rising over the sea.
It was an absolutely freezing night on Cowbar but beautiful and well worth watching the sun set.
Nice clear night to get a shot of the city and a shot of the moon and "bleed" them together. This is deliberately a bit tongue-in-cheek and "artistic licence" with the size of it.
The first Supermoon in 2023 was hidden behind thick clouds in the night, glad i managed to get it in the morning with the warm sun glow before sunrise ..
Wishing all my friends in USA a very special "Happy 4th of July" with the Supermoon shining bright for all!

Almost impossible to make this photo in one take, but for tech geeks, here is the backstory: we have a couple barred owls that come out of the woods at dusk and sit in the same tree every night over the chicken coop and who-who with Lynn. . .when the moon came up in the Eastern sky it was huge -- but not pink, just a slightly larger than normal full moon. The owl was photographed with fill flash, but it washed out the moon and without the flash, the owl was just a dark blob, so we combined the two images for this composite photo. A blessed Easter weekend to everyone.
