One of the defining beauties of the 20th Century. And that isn't hyperbole. This woman is a modelling legend in her own lifetime and at the age of 67 she's still stunningly sexy and glamourous looking. Her start in modelling began back in 1973 and breaking contract records with that stunning face and figure she scooped an unprecedented three consecutive covers for the legendary "Sports Illustrated" magazine Swimsuit Issues starting in 1979. But her global appeal was no doubt throughout the 1980s being the "Face" of cosmetics giants "CoverGirl" for 25 years, being married to music legend superstar "Billy Joel" in 1985 and having a very memorable role in the comedy classic film "National Lampoon's Vacation" (1983) as "The girl in the red Ferrari" pulling up alongside Chevy Chase's dopey "Clark Griswold" and his hapless "clapped out" Station Wagon flirting with him flashing those gorgeous eyes, those firm golden thighs, all that lush long blonde hair flowing in the breeze, then speeding off before his family of misfits wake up and wonder why he's drifting off the highway. Christie paved the way for future sexy swimsuit models like Rachel Hunter, Cindy Crawford, Tyra Banks, Pamela Anderson and more who can all track their modelling careers back to the likes of Christie Brinkley who proved you can have it all and look a billion dollars at the same time. *above photo of stunning Christie in 2004 aged 50, and the best looking 50 year old you've ever seen.

Thoughtful and easily cropped to be a cover photo.

This life-size copy of the world-famous Rosetta spacecraft is living out its retirement at ESA’s European Space Operations Centre in Darmstadt, Germany.

Engineering models are an important part of spacecraft operations – acting as faithful and realistic testbeds for all sorts of trials and tricks too risky to attempt, first-go, on the original.

Models like this also serve as mementos of our human endeavours in space, which are so often hard to visualise, and even harder to get close to.

The original Rosetta probe carried out its final manoeuvre at 20:50 GMT (22:50 CEST) on 29 September 2016, setting itself down on comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko and sending its final image from just 24 or so metres above the surface.

While we no longer receive updates from the plucky comet-chaser, our super model in Germany reminds us every day of what a remarkable achievement this was.

IT Supermodel Convention: Who Will Get to Go?

Yes, my daughter Hannah and I are going to the 2016 IT Supermodel Convention in Chicago! These are several of the ladies (and gents) who are wanting to go too! The ladies think the guys will not enjoy it and that I should only bring them. Who do you think I should pick?

Who else is going? I would love to meet some of the doll peeps I have gotten to know through their blogs or here on Flickr!

Introducing ForceCast supermodel Nicole Whittaker! Faithful ForceCast listener and fashion photographer Gilbert Valenzuela recognized Nicole's strength in The Force, thus prompting him to enlist Nicole for a series of photo shoots inspired by The ForceCast. Every week, we will feature a new pic of Nicole as she says loud and proud "Star Wars (and The ForceCast) is forever!"

Working in the Annapurna Himalaya, well, when you pick up a camera, the "models" aren't half bad :)

One of the Wheatear that I was fortunate to shoot the other day. They gave me several photo opportunities and the light was definitively a big plus that day. Cheers my Friends.

Well, not so much a French supermodel as my step-son, Stephane. This is my very first "posed portrait" attempt. Rather than sneaking around taking shots of unknown & unsuspecting people, I asked Stephane to pose for me. I really couldn't stuff the photo up as he's such a natural!

Mercedes is very happy these days. She is 11.5 years old. She has started to show signs of not being so agile. She has recently survived a serious cat attack I think. I nursed her wounds on her left back leg, and she let me, it was amazing, she just let me do everything to fix her up. I had been away, so she had been sore for more than one day possibly, by the time I got to her she was in so much pain she just didn't care anymore to fight against me fixing her up. She recovered well. Prior to the attack she didn't seem to make clean jumps anymore, sometimes she doesn't make the jump, and she's not as readily strong as she used to be. But one thing is for sure, she's very playful and happy, especially at night. She talks to her toys and rubs on them and throws them around.

She can escape the yard, and I allow it because she's sensible, she doesn't go on the road, and she mentally needs to not be caged. The lady who was feeding them said the day before I returned, all the cats did not come out when she came to put the food and usually they come to her. So I suspect another cat had got into my yard and attacked Mercedes. I doubt one of the others bit her, but I don't really know what happened to cause all the cats to be too afraid to come to feed, or who attacked Mercedes.
