In a paddock outside Breeza this incredible American style barn is all that remains from the 2006 Hollywood Blockbuster - Superman Returns.

On Thursday night, as I was settling in for a comfy and 'relaxed' long weekend I received a text from my good friend Tim Poulton proposing a mad dash the next morning out to country NSW to camp and photograph this amazing location.

The next morning we met up with Timbo Don and Ben Coope and set sail for a night of mayhem.

5 half hours later and we were standing in a field, seemingly in the middle of no-where. Surrounded by wheat stubble was the incredible 'superman barn'. With an outlook over into nothingness, it's clear that the produces were looking for exactly the same landscape as the original 1978 hit.

Jump over to Tim's page to see his take on this awesome location (www.facebook.com/groups/ooakphotographyadventures/?ref=br_tf) and be sure to keep an eye out for Timbo Dons (www.flickr.com/photos/timbodon/) and Ben Coope's (www.flickr.com/photos/it_monkey/) work. View large on black and, as always, thanks for looking!

Superman to the rescue...if he can emerge from the bubbles and loose himself from the strong chains that hold him!! 😄

(... had to resort to Superman again as this is one of only two keychains I have at my disposal)

This picture was officially posted by Lego today and it looks amazing! From Superman's new hair to Batman's torso!

Rescan of an image I posted in 2008. This time, I "scanned" it with a camera and a macro lens. I used Negative Lab Pro and the Essential Film Holder.

Originally shot on Fuji Pro 160C on a Bronica ETRSi, Zenzanon 75mm f/2.8 EII.

Tough times for Superman. But he is staying positive.

I like the fig personally and I might make some superman villians tmrw

The one and only...

This is the Superman farm, used in the original Superman movie, and Superman III.

I'll be back this weekend to get a better drone video of the place, as I love the old superman movies, and I love historical and old farms and houses.

Check out my videos @fotomancalgary on youtube! Lots of historical videos there and getting more content for more :)

This stunt is termed as Superman in dirt biking stunt world. This looks like superman flying hence the name. Feet are released and are kicked back.

Taken while covering the Manchester Motorcyle Show 2013 at Manchester Central.

It wasn't a Bird. Nor was it a plane. It was The Great Protector. When he was younger, Randy Ward realized his name was his destiny. He told me his name means the Great Protector.

Superman is a storm chaser. His Supermobile is equipped with radar, GPS, Ham radio and other communication devices. When he is not in uniform he must carry a small hip mounted handheld VHF/UHF transceiver to be ready for any approaching storms.

I asked Superman if he caught any footage of the tornado that swept through my town last October. Unfortunately he was working at the time, but he sensed something big was about to happen. I could tell that missing the only known tornado to pass through our town disappointed him greatly. I learned several things from talking with the Man of Steel, such as staying southeast of a storm to avoid the hail.

Superman is a bit of a local celebrity, known by the police departments of the surrounding parishes. He recently began assisting at children's birthday parties, and even had an offer to attend a bachelor party as a special guest. He had to turn that invitation down, however. He has a certain image to uphold, he informed me.

Superman was intrigued when he learned I had photographed Batman and he agreed to come by the studio for a quick photoshoot. Before we could go any farther with the plan, however, rain droplets began to gather on the surface of the Supermobile. And like that, Superman was gone, heading southeast towards the approaching clouds on the horizon.

Thank you Superman for being the 173rd stranger in my 100 Strangers project. I hope to work with you in the future. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the flickr group page.

Cansado de volar, se puso a caminar... ^^

¿Cessió a Portugal? ¿O potser trasllat a altres parts d'Espanya?

Imagine my surprise when I looked down from the balcony and saw Superman undressing for the beach!!! Somehow, I thought he'd be more fit ;-)

Break the limit of our own body, and do things others could not do. Everyone dreams to be a superman.

Officially known as the Industrial National Bank Building, it is popularly known as the Superman Building due to its resemblance to the Daily Planet in the Superman comic books. IT was completed in 1927 and opened to tenants in October 1928. Photographed here from the eastern bank of the Providence River.

Must have been tired and hungry. Found Superman outside of Chipolte.

New Superman arrived and was immediately welcomed by the girls! lol

It's a bird, It's plane, no it's Superman!

High above the streets of Metropolis, Superman floats gracefully above the city. People bustling to and from their destinations, Cars honking at bikers in the road, steam rearing from manhole covers. Birds fluttered atop the skyscrapers, cooing as they greeted one another.

He can hear it all. The brake pads on an old taxi down on 11th Ave, a mother soothing her child after a long afternoon nap seven blocks away. Even the sound of exasperated breathing, from a shop owner hiding under his checkout counter. He could hear feet shuffling, a few murmured demands, a cash drawer open... and the sound of a slide being cocked back over a loaded gun!

He could hear the gun fire, as he instantly flew it's direction! Seconds later he was outside the small store, it was as if time was slowed. Superman floated in gracefully as the bullet trudged closer and closer to the shop owner. Superman landed softly, stepping through the doorway, a hooded gunman was aiming towards a cowering older man, a bullet was mid-flight between the gun and the man's heart. Superman walked calmly up to the heated projectile. Reaching out, he plucked it from the air without the slightest hesitation.

Time returned to normal as he turned to the shop keeper, “It's okay now” He spoke sternly, giving a small smile. “Are you hurt?”

“Uh gee uh... wow...no, I guess” The owner stuttered in a loss for words. His tense body relaxed significantly as Superman turned to the gunman. He was barely legal to own that weapon, Eighteen, maybe Nineteen.

He stood there stiff, still aiming straight at the store counter where superman stood, but shock cascaded over his face. He lowered the gun slowly, and began to cry.

“I'm so sorry...” tears welled up as the boy dropped the firearm “Superman, I'm sorry...”

“I'm not the one you should be apologizing to, Son” Superman said taking a step back letting the two characters see eye to eye once more. Silence fell onto the room, their heartbeats slowed.

“Com'ere,” Superman gestured with an open arm, inviting him to the counter. The boy shuffled under his arm and hugged Superman tightly. “My Mom... she's sick...” The boy sniffled, “I just want to help her...” He looked up to Superman, then over to the Shopkeeper “I'm... I'm sorry.” The boy emptied his pockets of wadded Twenty's and two rolls of quarters.

“My wife...” The shopkeeper said, stepping closer “She knows a doctor. She could get her to take a look at your Mom...”

Superman grinned subtly as the boy released the vice-grip from around his waist to lean against the counter to talk with the shop owner. The three talked for what felt like hours. Later, an officer came by at Superman's request to take the boy home.

Before leaving, Superman took the boy's handgun from the floor and crushed it into the size of a golf ball, tossing it into a trash bin as he exited the shop. He slowly floated back into the sky, and the sounds of Metropolis found his ears once again. He smiled. No one got hurt today.

Okay, let's set the tone...

Oh man, it feels like I'm the last kid on the block to get this fig! Adam's Indestructible Hero is a fantastic figure!

Superman is far overdue for a new look, seeing as the first, and only time Lego had made a Superman fig was from 2011. The planned N52 costume from The Lego Batman 3 video game never saw the light of day, and I was pretty bummed about that. So obviously when Phoenix Customs announced their figure based on Jim Lee's design, I would be an idiot not to buy one :P

This fig also came with a starched cape with an 'S' symbol printed on the back, but for artistic purposes I left it out, substituting a sponge-y cape to give this photo just a bit more fluidity with the invisible breeze I image when I look at these photos.

Also, thinking about it now, this could almost be a sister piece to Gotham in Red... flic.kr/p/FfLKRJ

Oh and like always, there is a bunch of cool bonus stuff over on my Patreon, including some different set-ups to the fig and the lightning, and a side by side comparison of the original photograph to the completed image you're seeing here :)

Solomon Grundy, Bizarro, Lex Luthor, General Zod, Metallo, and Toyman.

Tell me what you think, and who I should add!

This is was mostly made for my Dark Knight Returns set, but it can be used for most Superman incarnations actually.

The Muscles are sculpted from Procreate. The cape was made out of Sculpey. The legs were lengthened a stud by the same technique I always use. The belt is e-tape. This was painted by me.
