For me sunflower means bright yellow cheerful ones but now a days I come across so many colors and shades. This Suntastic Yellow is an addition to my garden this year.

Red is passion-lit, orange is flowerageous, yellow is suntastic , pink is lipsensual , green is lifebursting, blue is skyful , purple is berry dancing , gray is cloudyrainy .

The poppies bloomed early in 2012 ...after a mild winter & early spring . This colorful field was seen blooming along I-26 north of Asheville , N.C.

The weather today was spectacular! I knew we would have a wonderful golden light afternoon. Unfortunately, we wouldn't have any westbounds at Tuscola, so we settled for some backlit UP eastbounds. There was a MYCAS working his way south and a CSX ethanol train sitting on the east side of town. Neither of which would make it to town before the sun set.

Today has been unseasonably warm and it's throwing me off because I was prepared for cold weather. But after these late autumn storms, we're right back to where we belong.
Anyway, as October comes near to its end, it has been an interesting month, but one of many reflections, revelations, regression & progression. We all have seasons in our lives that when we look back we think about how it has shaped us to be who we are today. And though we would never want to live through that again, we are glad we did. But that's all in mere hindsight. When you're actually living through it, it's a pain that hurts like when you broke your first bone, or when someone breaks your heart. But as you're experiencing the pain, you can say to yourself that "I'm going to remember this. I'm going to look back on this and know I learned. know it's going to shape me to be a better person. and if anything, I'll help someone else through their pain".
"Faith is having the courage to go on when the rest of the world would understand if you quit."
I choose to continue to have faith in the general goodness of people.
