This was in my Cavalier when I bought it last July and I shoved it in a bag with all the other stuff that was in the car and forgot about it. I found that bag today and looked through it and pulled this out, there is a bit missing at the bottom but I really like it! This will stay in the Nova, a nice 90's 00's accessory.

A sail like sunshade for possible use as a sunscreen for the Skylab Orbital Workshop (OWS) is shown being fabricated in the GE Building across the street from Johnson Space Center, Houston Texas. Three people help the steamstress feed the material through the sewing machine. The three-layered sunshade will be composed of a top layer of aluminized mylar, a middle layer of laminated nylon ripstop, and a bottom layer of thin nylon. Working on the sunshade are from left to right: Dale Gentry, Elizabeth Gauldin, Alyene Baker, and James H. Barnett Jr. Mrs. Baker, a GE employee, operates the double needle Singer sewing machine. Barnett is head of the Crew Equipment Development Section of JSC Crew Systems Division. Mrs. Gauldin is also with the Crew Systems Division. Gentry works for GE. The work shown here is part of the crash program underway to prepare a sunshield for Skylab to replace the original shield which was lost when Skylab 1 was launched on May 14, 1973. The improvised solar shield selected to be used will be carried to Earth orbit by the Skylab 2 crewman who will then deploy the reflective parasol to shade part of the OWS from the hot rays of the sun. Loss of the orginal sun shield has caused an overheating problem. in the Orbital Work Shop.

To say that the advent of the F-35 into operational service has been a protracted affair is probably the understatement of this Century!

The US Navy, USMC and US Air Force are all working up on them now with Italy and Japan and our own RAF/Royal Navy also in the loop but I must admit I did give this one more than a cursory glance as I've seen that mock-up that's been dragged around UK Airshows so many times - I wasn't entirely certain that this 'was' the real McCoy!

Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay is a waterside building located on six hectares of waterfront land alongside Marina Bay near the mouth of the Singapore River, purpose-built to be the centre for performing arts for the island nation of Singapore. Taking its name from the nearby Esplanade, it contains a Concert Hall which seats about 1,600 and a Theatre with a capacity of about 2,000 for the performing arts.

The library@esplanade is located on the third floor of the building. There are outdoor performing centres, and retail and food space at the Esplanade Mall. There is an outdoor open space on the fourth floor of the building, which is the highest point open to the public.

As one of the world’s busiest arts centres, Esplanade offers a wide range of programmes. In addition to Esplanade Presents performances, other offerings by diverse presenters complement the programmes at the centre.

Esplanade’s programmes are broadly organised around key areas – the community and access programmes form the foundation of activities at the centre, collaborations with mainly local arts groups help develop the industry, while leading international productions aim to offer innovative programmes in the major arts genres. These programmes are presented in different festivals and series designed to appeal to a broad range of audiences.

Esplanade's in-house programming team presents over 14 festivals and 20 on-going series throughout the year. As a centre for everyone, the programmes range from PLAYtime! for 2 to 4 year olds, Bitesize - a monthly talk and workshop taster series for a range of Arts topics, to At The Concourse - a non-ticketed music series that runs everyday of the year, as well as Coffee Morning Afternoon Tea - concerts featuring nostalgic English and Chinese golden hits by veteran local artists. -Wikipedia

As we were leaving the park, after listening to two concerts, I saw her sitting on the grass and I said: "Hello, may I make a portrait of you?" She seemed a bit surprised when I also said that she looked photogenic to me.

"I never know what to do when photographed," she laughed, "but, yes, go ahead."

I had to kneel down, and with my sore knees it was a bit painful, but I managed.

"Daniela is a name I love," I told her.

She was in the company of another woman and a child, and when I heard them speaking Swedish, I immediately switched from Finnish. So much easier !

(If you don't know, Finland has two national languages, Finnish & Swedish.)

I asked Daniela, 28y/o, if she could think of a message she'd like to share.

She thought for a moment and then said that it was surely a cliché, but true, wishing everybody to be happy and well.

By now my knees were aching and I had to stand up, but I still waited for Daniela to write down her email address in my notebook.

"I will send you the photos with a few questions, it would be wonderful if you could answer any of them," I said.

We wished each other a lovely summer and I walked away releasing the accumulated pain in my knees.

Getting old is not for sissies, I've been told :-)

Our eight year old neighborhood kiddo is way cool for his age. He can throw, catch and bat like a teenage little league ball player, too. I’ve been tweaking this image off and on for hours. Stop me before I really mess it up!

I've seen recyclers of all ages; this man--perhaps a pensioner--was one of the eldest. Perhaps he needs the extra pocket money he earns from collecting plastic bottles. Or maybe he likes to feel that he's doing something useful... But he will only receive five cents per bottle; he won't get rich doing this!

The contrast between the flowers in their plastic wrapping juxtaposed with the plastic bottles in a large plastic "wrapping" (the large transparent garbage bag) is so extreme... As the expression goes, "Only in New York!"
