Blowing off the dust from the winter...
It is my favorite time of the year... Right as the cold leaves and the warm begins. Thunderstorm season will soon be here and I always like to get a few snaps in before the first storms.
Sunset was surreal... Breathtaking as normal. Plus the migration of the birds is a big thing in South Central Nebraska. Sandhill Cranes, Geese and Ducks and about million other species migrating their natural habitat.

Dune du Grand Bec, 85270 Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez - The area "there" with buildings is called Les Becs with lots of (old) summer appartments. We walk a little more over the dunes, before heading back over the beach.

🚶♂️ An Unexpected Detour, A Perfect Reward 🌄✨
Sometimes, the journey takes an unexpected turn. With no availability at the historic Domaine du Sauvage—an incredible site nearly 1,000 years old—I had to push forward an extra 6km to reach Lajo. This meant crossing from Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes into the Lozère department of Occitanie. ️
Though the additional walk was challenging, the reward made it all worthwhile. Gîte Les Bouleaux Nains offered incredible hospitality, delicious food, and great company. The icing on the cake? A private room all to myself, leading to the best night’s sleep of the journey so far. 💤
The day ended with a spectacular sunset atop the mountains, painting the horizon in hues of gold and crimson—a breathtaking reminder of the beauty that awaits, even after the toughest climbs. 🌅💛
