It was a beautiful sunset evening and looking over the water below the mountains, I saw these geese enjoying their swim. The water was that colour on this evening, a pale mauve/pink from the sunset.

They tell you not to ever point your camera straight into the sun... They say a lot of things... I agree, so I will tell everyone not to shoot straight into the sun, and never get a picture like this one.

This was taken on my mobile phone so the image quality is not so good, I like the sky though...

After shooting the ice cracks in the morning, I set out to see what else this huge lake has to offer.

A few miles down the road, I pulled over and ventured out on to the lake again. Very quickly I found a huge area with lovely methane bubbles! These bubbles are formed as vegetations on the bottom of the lake decay and release gasses, which are then trapped in the ice as the water freezes.

With the sun breaking through the clouds and the mist still lingering in the background Sunset mountains, Frenchman mountain rises above Henderson, Nevada. Henderson, adjacent to Las Vegas, is at 2000' above sea level and the second largest city in Nevada.

Bathed in a fiery sunset glow, this majestic snow-covered mountain rises through the mist like a flame frozen in time. The sky blazes with shades of crimson, magenta, and gold, wrapping the peaks in warmth as twilight gently descends. A surreal moment of nature’s raw power and beauty—where fire meets ice in perfect harmony.

Sunset in the Central Valley of California near Newman.

The golden glow of the setting sun rests on the distant snow-capped peaks, while the valley is bathed in gentle light. In the foreground, alpine plants sway softly in the breeze, creating a vivid contrast with the majestic mountains beyond—a serene yet powerful portrait of nature

I took this picture during my winter holidays in French Alps at Albiez Montrond. On the background, you can see “les Aiguilles d’Arves”, three mountain peaks. Ones looks like the head of a cat (it’s a little hidden behind a cloud). As you can see on the photo, the snow was very good for skiing. Beside, the landscape in these mountains is awesome! ;D

The Aiguilles d’Arves (3,514 metres (11,529 ft)) is a mountain in the Arves massif in the French Alps. The mountain, comprising three separate peaks (in French Aiguille), is the highest point of the massif, and is located in the department of Savoie.

The Alps is one of the great mountain range systems of Europe, stretching from Austria and Slovenia in the east through Italy, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Germany, France and Monaco in the west.

The highest mountain in the Alps is Mont Blanc, at 4,810.45 m (15,782 ft), on the Italian–French border. All the main peaks of the Alps can be found in the list of mountains of the Alps and list of Alpine peaks by prominence.

Scenic landscapes of the northern Norwegian fjords. Lysefjorden.

This was captured in northern Georgia at a beautiful lodge called Amicalola Falls State Park Lodge. This place is in the middle of the mountains and has everything one could want when searching for rejuvenation, as well as getting back in touch with nature again. Camping, lodging, the AT Appalachian Trail is right here (the start of it), many hiking trails for every ones' pace.

I would watch the sun disappear behind the darkening profile of the mountain. It was never the same, each sunset was different.

I took this shot during my winter holidays in French Alps at Albiez Montrond. The snow was very good, lot of powder. So, skiing in that conditions was great. Beside, the landscape is awesome!! I recommend it! ;D

Storm at sunset over the Sandia Mountains from Placitas, New Mexico

This is exactly what we viewed at sunset in the Georgia Mountains. It was so surreal...

Not a car-related picture this time...

I took this photo a few days ago while travelling home during a cloudy afternoon. Suddenly the Sun made his way through the clouds in the last minutes before setting.

The mountain featured is called Grignetta, or Grigna Meridionale, as seen from the village of Aizurro which is located in the North of Italy near the city of Lecco (Como Lake).

Wish you all a great 2018!

The Smoky Mountains are a long time favorite trip for us. I have a new appreciation with a camera in hand.
