Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell), Beppu, Japan
A mystical hot spring in Beppu’s famous “Hells of Beppu” (Beppu Jigoku). The striking turquoise water, rising steam, and volcanic rocks create an otherworldly landscape. With water temperatures close to 98°C, this geothermal wonder is too hot for bathing but is one of Japan’s most iconic natural sights.
