This was from a few weeks ago along the California coast.
My cousin is flying into Albuquerque tomorrow where I'll pick her up and we're going to Santa Fe for a couple of days before returning to Durango. We are planning a few day trips from Durango that I'm really looking forward to also.
Safe trip Cheryl......I can hardly wait:-))
I find it interesting that the colours at sunset can vary so much.
A bit behind after returning from holiday but hope to get back to posting regularly soon :)
Thanks for all the lovely comments and favs on my last sunset pic :)

So there's always a story behind an image. I took this one Monday eve just gone. That's the beautiful Moyteoge Head on Achill Island. It also contains a lovely little beach called Keem. The beach is nice and remote but recently IG and magazine articles have been lauding it as one of the most beautiful beaches l in Ireland so it's attracting a lot of extra visitors, wild campers and the likes esp during the Summer months. It's also the location for Brendan Gleesons character in the new movie 'banshees of inisherin', so that's only going to draw more visitors!! I like it quiet and Winter is a good time to visit for me.
It was quite windy when we arrived but I wanted to get that aerial sunset pic. I though my little drone could handle the winds but alas. Thankfully the winds were blowing ashore but my little drone ended up in the mountain and landed itself when the battery had run out. I spend an hour up the mountain until it got dark and couldn't find it. There's no phone reception or data on this part of the island, at least not on the 3 network. My wife was about to call 999 when I came down off the mountain in the dark empty handed. She had called the one person we know on the island and he was just arriving all set to recover me! To make a long story short the last gps coordinated were incorrect due to the loss of data. I managed to get updated coordinated last night from the phone app and returned to the location at first light today and recovered the drone in about 10min. It sure helps when you have the right location. So all's well the ends well. I now know the limits of my drone and my wife :-)
Of yes, this is the photo I got just before it went missing!
Reposting due to accidental removal ........

It's Salvage time...This one is from 2018 at Goa. I remember I was looking to get a sunset pic and couldn't make it in time. To make matters worse the place was covered in Haze. This is after I processed the RAW files to remove Haze and combined them and voila the colors popped out.

As you can see, I am struggling to come up with a name for yet another sunset image! It's my own fault for posting them but goodness me it can be a challenge coming up with something unique or vaguely appropriate. If someone can come up with a better title (excluding the obvious ' utter rubbish' or 'yet another sunset pic'), I'll be pleased to edit the title accordingly!
I do attempt to mix up my gallery and postings a bit but living close to the coast, seascapes and suchlike are always going to be a bit of a running theme.
Apologies over, yes, this is another from my flying camera period. I still periodically take the drone out to stretch its wings but not often in the winter months. Rarely do I find conditions like there was on this day.
Caught this westbound TP&W train as it rolled into Gilman, IL with loads for Incobrasa Industries. By this point, the crew has already make their deposit and picked up some empties. They'll shove back into town, run the power around the train, and head back east after a brief wait for one southbound move on CN.
Oh yeah, and it was frickin' freezing out here.
I am not especially keen on sunrise/sunset pics, but many people are drawn to the dramatic colors that such times of day possess. But I do really love this very large tree that looms over this field that is just northwest of the Central Park Reservoir.
Please excuse all the sunset pics lately,it's about the most excitement I get sitting in a cornfield!
Here's yet another winter sunset...really exploding! Usually with that many clouds, basically a wall of clouds, you don't get a very vibrant sunset. It's as if it was determined to show of its stuff! ha! I couldn't keep from taking a few pics. I had thought to drive down to the Mississippi River to take sunset pics, but once I saw this wall of clouds, I didn't think it'd be worth it! ha! Boy, was I mistakened! Hope you all enjoy!

This shot is actually right in Trempealeau...just the cutest little town that is located right on the Mississippi River. The snowy section that is across that lower street is actually a lake. (don't mistake that for the Mississippi, like I did! ha!) The Mississippi River is actually located on the other side of that little rise, which are railroad tracks. If you run through this page of postings, you'll find a few sunset pics that show railroad tracks running off into the sunset. That is the same railroad tracks!
The snow you're seeing, I'm sure is not only snow, but ice as well! It's difficult to make out, but right at the base of the hills, is the lock and dam (No. 6), as it goes across the middle of the river. I'll have to get a better shot of that later, in the spring or summer. Hope you all enjoy!

This is the same as the previous posting, just minutes later. This is taken over Lake Onalaska, located in Onalaska, Wisconsin. This is one of my favorite spots for taking sunset pics! Nothing quite like taking sunset pics over a body of water--so beautiful!
Hope you all enjoy!

I was down at the beach taking some sunset pics when this poodle came flying by- literally. Dogs are supposed to be on leash there, and technically he was, but no one was holding the other end, which was fine by him. Eventually his owner got him back, much to the delight of the local seagull population.
This is taken at one of my favorite spots for capturing sunsets, right over Lake Onalaska--which in reality would be the Mississippi River, if it weren't for the many islands in the area. Probably many of you have read that before in my many postings.
My husband and I had just finished eating dinner out at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants, and he was gracious enough to oblige me by stopping to take some sunset pics--definitely one of my favorite things to do!
Hope you all enjoy!

This is yet another sunset photo from my favorite area for sunset pics, Lake Onalaska. This was actually taken this last Thursday evening. I thought the clouds were just perfect, wispy enough to make for a perfect sunset! It actually got brighter yet after the sun had gone down, but we didn't end up staying long enough for that.
Before you start believing this is the Mississippi River, it's actually Lake Onalaska. If it weren't for all the islands you see, it would indeed be the Mississippi. It's actually located right next to the hills that you see off in the distance, west of this location. Hope that sheds some light on the subject!
Hope you all enjoy!

On Sunday we had a lovely day visiting my parents and brother in Lincolnshire. Nice opportunity for a sunset pic I thought..... hahaha..... Nice one Jodie (I still got a nice sunset pic, but I love this for the fun of it!) Plus I have now got my own back and shared it with the world of flickr ;-)

This is a view of the W Hotel in Barcelona taken from the beach, a great place to watch the sun go down!!
Glorious sunrise this morning. Normally I am not much for sunrise/sunset pics without some foreground element for composition but when you're driving down the road and you see the amazing blood red ball in the sky, you either stop and take the pictures or resolve to watch it go by because it only lasts mere moments. So, sometimes we make our own foreground for the image :-)
So, more side of the road photography on this second day of spring.

I never get tired of seeing sunsets & boat silhouettes, another stunning end of the day at West Mersea in Essex.
