The beginning of a stunning sunset over the Mono Lake. I like this place because the strange rock formations in the water. A perfect spot to shoot some nice sunset pics. Sadly en off there was to much wind what makes that the water is moving a bit so no reflections visible in this one. But still a good shot with nice light.

Saturday night's sunset was crazy! i went to the beach for shooting some sunset pics. But the sunset looked not good and seems like it didn't have potential to be spectacular. But nature is never boring. In a couple of minutes after sunset the sky was on fire. I was dancing behind my camera while standing in the water. :-)

I can't resist taking a picture when I see a pretty sunset. I know I post a lot of sunset pics, but no two sunsets are ever the same. Right after I took this an alligator swam by close to the reeds. I tried to get a shot, but he went under the water before I could get one. A missed opportunity!

As i yet again walked by my neighborhood Ash tree for a sunset pic a couple came in to my lens.... and sparked up my Picture! Look Close and notice the guy having also a camera ready :)
The sand is the most gentle hue of gold, almost earthen and muted, the humble star of the scene. I love this beach. I love the driftwood that comes upon the buoyant waves as tiny rescue boats. Then there is the seaweed, that flora of those salty waves, as deeply green as any high summer foliage. My favourite though, of everything that is here upon the softly rolling dunes, is the tall, tall grass that whispers so sweetly into the gusting breeze.

I went out yesterday afternoon to scout out a location that was recently damaged by a passing storm. Since it was quite cloudy and a storm was approaching, I really have any plans for sunset. However, once I got home it looked as if the storm may pass through just before sunset, so, off I went to see what I could find. Sunsets rarely disappoint.

While going through some 2007 photos, I came across a few sunset pics. This one was from July 27th 2007 during monsoon season here in Arizona.
the flowering in Castelluccio remains one of the most intense and spectacular nature shows of the summer. A magic in which man and nature meet like in a spell.
The setting is Castelluccio di Norcia, a small village in Valnerina, jealously guarded by the Sibillini Mountains National Park. Here we are at 1452 meters above sea level, a few kilometers from Norcia.
La fioritura a Castelluccio rimane uno degli spettacoli della natura più intensi e spettacolari della bella stagione. Una magia in cui l’uomo e la natura si incontrano come in un incantesimo.
A fare da cornice c’è Castelluccio di Norcia, un piccolo borgo nella Valnerina, custodito gelosamente dal Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini. Qui siamo a 1452 metri sul livello del mare, a una manciata di chilometri da Norcia.

Just hanging today playing with a few new free processing programs. Learning some but mostly it's allowed me to find literally dozens of sunset pics that never got used. This one is zoomed in quite a bit which I rarely do. On good nights I could get 4 or 5 that were quite different, use 1 or 2 and forget about the rest cause I'd just go the next day anyway. Late summer and fall seem to be the best times for me. Less wind and the sun sets much earlier.
