It was a beautiful sunset after a super Father's Day dinner.

This image is straight out of the cell phone with no post processing. I know, I know, I'm opposed to pretty sunset/sunrise pics. But...........

Clouds at sunrise on frozen lake this is 180 % view across road from last sunrise pic over buck lake 10 minutes before sun broke horizon

Did very little to this image Haze removal/ levels and clarity/auto contrast no colour added pretty much out of camera was a spectacular sunrise the haze removal really brings out colours and depth on some images for some reason

Bring the red cloud from the sun

While he sinketh, catch it.

That shall be a couch,---with one

Sidelong star to watch it,---

Fit for poet's finest Thought,

At the curfew-sounding,--- ;

Things unseen being nearer brought

Than the seen, around him.

(From Elizabeth Barrett Browning's "The House of Clouds")

I was up with the sun this morning ... a fine sunrise ... pics to follow. The above was taken night before last.

- Keefer Lake, Ontario, Canada -

We enjoyed getting this sunrise pic of Mt. Adams in Washington State...taken from a small mountain, over ground fog, in the Tualatin Valley of NW Oregon.

Thanks for all of the very nice compliments on this scene, which simply would not have been possible for me without my DJI Air 2S drone...which I'm really finding to be an exceptional tool in my toybox...I say tool, my wife says toy, hahaha.

Thanks to Steve for the sunrise pic, Matter app for the attraction and Unsplash for the attracted.

the second ~ original colours

promise no more sunrise pics for today:)

Pre-sunrise pic of a lighthouse around Seattle.... I have a 9 ND filter on.

I love the sound of the waves on this pebble beach. The colors are beautiful (even on the phone camera). It's a bit noisy but so relaxing. Wild and tranquil at the same time.

Captured last year (same time as listed sunrise pics)

Not likely to be many more sunrise pics from me after moving to the Poconos from the Jersey Shore ..

This morning I decided to have another look down to the beach near Souter lighthouse & Whitburn & see if there was a sunrise pic to be had.

As I walked to the top of the cliffs & noticed some torches shining from the farthest rocks from the shore & thought it's either fisherman or Photographers.

Sure enough it was the latter & was pleased to meet up with Steve, Simon & Alan.

Very nice indeed meeting up with you guys, cheers for the company :-)

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to look or post a comment. Cheers...

I finally got round to editing some more pics of New Zealand. Here we have a sunrise pic from the very end of lake Wakatipu at Glenorchy. Wandering round he delta on a still morning meant there were plenty of reflection shots to be had.

The last sunrise pic of the decade,as seen from home.I would like to wish a happy and successful 2020 to all.

A shot I got after taking sunrise pics on the beach

Good morning and happy Wednesday. With all the craziness going on in the world sharing this sunrise with hoping the rays on sunshine will put a simile on your face.

Rougher than usual waters gives lots of texture to this sunrise pic. I was surprised to find the sun this far to the south. I thought it would be off camera to the left. Lucky me.

I wasn't sure it would be worth it to try for some sunrise pics when I woke up and saw that it was foggy. However, as I approached the Dana Point Harbor, the fog thinned out to reveal a wonderful mixture of clear sky and fog. Gottal love mornings!

(2012) 365 Day Project Day 97

I had to work today so thought I would get up extra early and go into the city for some sunrise pics. The previous few days we had been having really clear skies but with a slight haze around the horizon, giving us fiery red sunrises and sunsets.

Back to beautiful Bryce with this sunrise pic looking out across the hoodoos. I was tickled to have been here with some fresh snow conditions. Bryce Canyon is not the largest of parks, but certainly one of the more intriguing.

Happy Slider Sunday, and Happy Father's Day. This pic was also the lead in for yesterday's Cliche Saturday; a sunrise pic titled ...comes around follows in my stream

The evening clouds streaking over Boston harborfront give an ethereal quality to the city. It is a timeless city, and I love the melding of historical and modern that can be found everywhere. The cobblestones and old docking chains on the waterfront contrasted against the modern skyline of downtown Boston highlight this mix. Taken around sunset from Fan Pier in the newly redeveloped Seaport District, after downing a beer (Sam Adams natch) and an awesome "Naked Lobster Roll" from the nearby Barking Crab restaurant.

Photographically, this is a merge of two long exposure shots. Was hoping for more dramatic color in the clouds but this front moved in over downtown just a few minutes too early. One can also see the movements of some other photographers from a group on the pier, as well as some light streaks from boats going by. Check out this photo from @nrbelex for a nice LE just after sunset: www.flickr.com/photos/nrbelex/14269376500/. Also a shout out to @Greg DuBois - whose awesome photostream led me to this location in the first place (like this great sunrise pic: www.flickr.com/photos/gregdubois/10319187794/).

I find the twisted-up clouds (in this case, mostly jet trails) to be intruiging...trying to imagine the wind patterns that will turn a jet trail into the weird cloud-like shapes that appear in this sunrise pic. Hope you like this pic even half as much as I do.

People will look at this image and believe the sunrise portion over Mount Rainier is way too saturated. This is the color it was, folks. Just look at other sunrise pics of The Mountain in this Sunrise area of Mount Rainier National Park, and you'll see that it pretty much always looks this wonderfully colorful at sunrise. This color doesn't last very long, though. It's magically saturated and then bam! It's replaced by regular sunlight, which eventually becomes so bright over the mountain that it threatens to blow out the snow highlights in a photo (usually, it does, to a certain extent).

I'm glad I was there during those particular days to capture the landscape on a couple of clear days, as it's been a little hazy out there, recently, due to the smoke from wildfires blowing in.

Baja is such a wonderful land of contrasts. This was early in the morning, before sunrise. (Compare this to the sunrise pic posted before the pelican.)

Woke up early to try and catch a sunrise pic in an unfamiliar area, this was almost an accident as I only caught it as I was leaving.

another shot from that day i got up pretty early, hopped in the train and went to the lake of constance to get sunrise pics and all i got was "the mist"

Another morning off work so I decided I'd get up early to capture another sunrise pic. On my way to the reservoir I wasn't too hopeful as there weren't many clouds in the sky, but, as I arrived, the cloud began to rise over the hills and the sky filled with colour. This, mixed with the gorgeous drive back home through Brecon, made the stupidly early start well worth it.

The grass was dripping with moisture this morning near Nine Mile Creek where it dumps into the Big Sioux. Heavy rains left me plenty to wade through to get some sunrise pics overlooking the creek.

Made #1 in Explore :) thank you all.

Early start this morning, Nore Point @ Portishead for are few sunrise pics of this little Lighthouse. Pain in the you know what to get too but I love the location, peaceful, sunny, gorgeous. Will definitely be visiting this area again soon.

This is a minor light on the coast of the Upper Bristol Channel near the town of Portishead. It was built as an aid to navigation of shipping in and out of the River Avon. The light was converted to electric and automated in 1941 and further modernised in 2000. It is now controlled form Harwich.

I discovered these rock formations on Flickr so my plan was to hit the rocks on Friday at sunrise and get tons of incredible sunrise pics of the rocks/ocean/clouds. Mother nature had other plans. The wind was blowing 30-35 mph and this was about the only pic of the dozen shots that didn't have substantial camera shake. Oh, and the sunrise that morning was obscured by clouds.

Marineland, Florida.

This proved to be a popular spot for sunrise pics. You can see the photographers along the canyon rim and you certainly can't miss the young lady posing in her bright orange dress. Her photographer is just off shot. There really is not a huge drop off were she is standing, but a fall could certainly cause some injury. She seems precariously close to the edge.

That's one good thing about short winter days - you can have a lay-in until 7 and still get a sunrise shot! Shame the cloud disappeared at the wrong moment, sending all my sunrise pics to the Land Of The Blown Highlights :(

Bright and breezy, a nice place for a walk ..

thats the village below our hotel.. see the lights? perhaps they are all sleeping while i am taking sunrise pics wearing boxers only lol (just kidding of course)

Taken from some considerable distance in poor light conditions (hence the noise), this is India's most gorgeous Himalayan peak and second highest after Kanchenjunga. Mt. Nanda Devi is worshipped all over the Kumaon region as the "Mother Goddess" and many a folklore has been told about her. The Main peak to the left (she has twin peaks) is the 23rd highest peak in the world. The lower peak to the right is Nanda Devi East.

my first sunrise photo taken yesterday.. early morning! weeeeeh!! *rein jumping up and down

i'm so happy!! isn't it obvious?! weeeeeh!!!

A few days ago, I posted a sunrise pic from this spot. To give you some idea just how incredible the conditions in the valley were last Saturday--this is the first time I've ever gotten both a killer sunrise AND sunset from this spot. I love shooting here in winter, because the angle of the setting sun lights up the western side of El Capitan dramatically--and the glow was on full-blast on this evening.

I drove down the road the other day to try for some sunrise pics...the sunrise was none too spectacular. Just before I left, I looked down and saw this bee that was still sleeping, so...out comes the macro lens...again...

btw...I paid dearly for that little morning jaunt, with chigger and bug bites that I'm still scratching right now...{=P

Another pic from my early morning trip to Whitburn. I was determined to get a sunrise pic with one of the sea arches in it, so when the sky exploded into life I was just about in the right spot & managed to get this shot.

Taken in Raw, 2x exposures blended together in photoshop.

Explore #90 Oct 17th 2010

on our last day in Goa we stayed at a place which was atop a cliff and there was a connecting path towards the beach. we arrived here somewhere during mid day and I immediately knew I have to click a sunrise pic in these open fields atop the cliff. so grabbed my model, and she enjoyed the walk up the cliff too in early morning sunrise. this kind of my place is my heaven when it comes to photography, during golden hour.

This was taken a few hours before my last sunrise on Rainier for last year. I think it was around 3:30am. After here Reed and I headed over to the Skyline Trail to see if we could snap a few sunrise pics. I think about a week after this shot it started to snow.

Hope everybody had a good week.

Thanks for stopping by

I'll be inspecting them all on my doggy walks from now on.

After posting my gloomy comments with my sombre foggy sunrise pics yesterday, it was a sunny crisp warm morning here.

Do you ever look for a 'sign' from the universe?

Well, I don't.

But I do think there's something intriguing about the theory regarding 'The Law of Attraction'.

i.e.: What is in your head, you attract.

www.wikihow.com/Use-the-Law-of-Attraction

This link gives 7 steps, but honestly, quite often things start to happen quickly after just making a decision with faith, and I'm not talking about religion here.

Just simple trust within your being.

After my dispirited comments concluded with the half-baked woeful intention (well, it gets boring being tragic after so long, doesn't it…), to become more proactive towards creating/enjoying a more positive existence, a cheerful visitor dropped in to help amaze me out of my stagnation.

Just fluttered past my eyeline, choosing a resting spot in the nearby frangipani tree to strengthen his brand new wings in the sun.

And stayed there for so long, that I had time to run inside for the camera, return with a chair to stand on for a better angle of view, set up at various points/distances, fiddle with settings, take about 120 photos…well, you never know, none of them might be any good..

He was quite content to enjoy that sunny spot for ages and although as always, the breeze was waving the garden around, he stayed almost completely still.

What a gift..
