My joy of photography is especially about capturing the light and the colours, rather than just 'taking a picture'. A strong lens brings details closer and shows you effects that you might not otherwise see with the naked eye. This morning's sunrise colours were a perfect example - under that glorious orange was an even more glorious purple. Wow 👍

Composition with blue sky background. The red yucca is very durable and is widely used in our prairie for roadside plantings, boulevards and commercial building landscaping. It takes the heat and dry weather.
From Texas A&M University:
"Red Yucca, Red Hesperaloe
Hesperaloe parviflora
Agavaceae
Red yucca (which is not a yucca) is a stalwart in the landscapes of Texas and the southwest. Its dark green rosette of long, thin leaves rising fountain-like from the base provides an unusual sculptural accent, its long spikes of pink to red to coral bell-shaped flowers last from May through October, and it is exceedingly tough, tolerating extreme heat and cold and needing no attention or supplemental irrigation once established, although many people remove the dried flower stalks in the fall. Unlike yucca, the leaves are not spine-tipped, and have fibrous threads along the edges. Red yucca is native to Central and Western Texas. A yellow-flowered form has recently become available in nurseries, and a larger, white-flowered species native to Mexico, giant hesperaloe (H. funifera), which has only been found in one location in the Trans-Pecos, is also available. Hummingbirds are attracted to the flowers.
Plant Habit or Use: small shrub, medium shrub

Flower Color: pinkish red, coral, yellow
Blooming Period: spring, summer
Fruit Characteristics: woody capsule

We were to Stockholm city the other day and had a walk on the lovely island Djurgården, all restaurants were overloaded by people and so were the big park areas, picknickin´ and tanning sunlovers everywhere. Temp 20C and thats nice for the month of april.
Ramena beach is popular to both tourists and locals. Situated in just one of the 3 gigantic bays of Diego Suarez, the immaculate white sand coast of Ramena is among the numerous pristine beaches that enveigle the senses of sunlovers. For locals however, public buses are scarce except during Sunday when day beach trips become regular for those who want to partake of a piece of paradise. We took a taxi to this beach on a Sunday and with 20 kilometers of beach to choose, empty stretches are the rule and crowds are non-existent.
For the nearly 3 hours that we were there, I chose to skip taking a dip. I practiced with my Rebel camera as the lighting was perfect and the people could not be any more generous with their smiles- or in the case of this child leaning on her napping mother, her lazy stare.

The Sun Lover statue by John Cleal is at Lower Town Fishgauard Pembrokeshire along with another statue called "the Shoal of Herrings" also by John Cleal (1929-2007).
Isn't it whimsical how simple sunglasses can turn your image funny? Ok I give few points for her great expression too. This princess is so great model.
30. Whimsical
That's a photograph project and the idea is to hunt 100 photos and match them for given titles. I'm doing the list in random order.
Here's the project list -> Artistic Temperament Scavenger Hunt.
The wild surf calls more then just surfers, there are still swimmers, string bikini gals, and families that brave the 58 degree waters, You should swim near a lifeguard station if waves are up as you will encounter those dangerous riptides too. Most ocean dwellers just wander up to their thighs or waist during the winter unless they dress in a wetsuit. Still its nice to see sunlovers in the winter months too in southern California.
