For those of us who have had the pleasure of seeing Lough Dan, it was usually from above looking down. This Lawrence image is down at water level showing the Wicklow hills in the background, and two men in their Sunday best about to put out onto the lake in a boat!

A company of six well-to-do folks posing with an open-topped Hispano-Suiza on an unpaved road in the countryside. The car appears to be an H6 B model with rare Cabriolet de Ville bodywork, possibly by French coachbuilder Henry Binder.

Well scrubbed and turned out for the festive occasion of Corpus Christi, and in anticipation of a procession around the area to the nearby church on Halston Street. While the girls look so happy and charming with their focus on the camera, the wee boy with his focus on his ice-lolly is the star of the show for me!

This charming shot would appear to have been taken from near the junction of Coleraine Street and North King Street. As DannyM8 observes, the beautiful children who were aged between 3 and 8 then would now be 53 to 58, and indeed some of them may continue to live there! It would be interesting if they could be identified. Swordscookie has recalled a slice of history that occurred there when Kevin Barry was arrested nearby. And those flats were later named after him!

Stop Press - monosnaps names most of the names of the children as follows: Checking this out tall girl on the right looks like my cousin Margaret Mallin lived on Coleraine St with 13 other siblings. Girl on left I haven't identified yet. Four children bunched together are the McCue's Siobhan Deirdre Harry and Ken, two girls on the right are Margaret and Joan Mallin my cousins. Both families lived on Coleraine Street.

Can anyone help identify the car in the photo?

The male of most species gets a bad rap when it comes work around the house and rearing of offspring , so I was happy to find this lowly sparrow dressed in his Sunday best working hard to get the house finished.

Old-fashioned cut and paste collage.

Hand-tinted figures

Old faded image of women dressed up in Sunday best, with water pump as foreground, which I found intriquing. Old picture from anchestry on my spouse's side.

An elegant couple posing with an open-topped Renault in the countryside. She is wearing a white summer dress and Mary Janes in the fashion of the 1920s. He is sporting a blazer, light-coloured trousers, a bow tie and a pocket square. Note the cigar in his hand.

.....can wear anything and look good!

We are back! Feeling fine finally, with a wish to take more pictures :-)

Have a great Sunday!

Hugs and kisses!

This couple had an actual sleeping infant in a lace bonnet sleeping in this carriage, so still that many people asked if it was a doll, one of those hyper-realistic dolls that some collect, but no, it was a real baby. Such attention to detail... Easter Parade, 5th Avenue & 51st Street, Midtown NYC -- April 2, 2024

Sunday best.

I watched a lady literally squeeze her feet into these. At least 1 size too small for her and unable to walk more than a few paces but what the heck she bought them anyway.

Dear Friends!

We sincerely congratulate you with coming holidays - Christmas and New Year 2016!

We hope that you will spend a lovely time with your nearest and dearest and that it will be the beginning of a wonderful new year. We also hope that most (or maybe even all!) of your plans and wishes will come true!

Be healthy and very happy!

And of course, don't forget your wonderful Blythe girls!!!

Polina and dollies :-)

...and her name is Sugar. She arrived yesterday, and though she looks sweet, she's already been plotting ways to knock Chuck out of the Queen Bitch position in this house.

It's time to put a backpack on and go back home, Blanche. We walked a lot today...
