This little fella was sunbaking by the pool, I think he fell in couple of times...

One of the rarest marine mammals in the world, these endangered seals are a Hawaiian endemic. With such little individuals remaining, finding one took a lot of luck and kilometres of walking, staring at why seemed like endless rocks. Just before giving up, I climbed up one last path to look down at a small beach, and amazingly, this young individual was having a sunbake, despite the awful weather.
he was sunbaking on this log next to the path, I thought he was cute :) He was looking quite fat and content with himself he'd probably not long raided an ants nest. It's usually only the males who get the bright red colouring and that will grow more intense during mating season and fade at other times.
