The sun worshippers all lined up to enjoy the show. As I told you, there are more tourists in the evening than in the morning. But the Salar is big and you can get away from them.
In the Pacific Northwest we have an excessive heat warning, and we are suffering through unprecedented temperatures for June. Aargh! my air-conditioning is not scheduled to be installed for another two weeks. Heat records are falling and it's impossible find a cool spot in my house, so, for distraction from my misery, I'm re-processing a photo of my beloved Mr. Purry Furry who has since passed over the Rainbow Bridge at the ripe old age of 20 years. The original image can be found in the album "Mr. Purry Furry and Friends".

The ancients used to treat greeting the sun at first light as a religious experience. A new day begins out of the dark night of the soul. Today we are more intent on catching that exact moment when the sun appears with our various light sensing devices (I can't say camera anymore).
Swallowtail at sunrise.
To properly illuminate the butterfly in the backlight, I used a reflector and a dimmed LED lamp.

An older macro, but it is, because of the evening mood during the setting sun, one of my all time favorites.
It was copied after an earlier publication in the German Fotocommunity unauthorized and made without my consent digital greeting and saying cards. It is also found on several websites and social media.
Therefore it can not be so bad (;-)), even if I am not personally satisfied with the technical implementation. The editing has never really succeeded me, because the contrast range is very large and this the Nikon D700 not quite coped.

This big pigeon lay down in the sun, and let the ants do their stuff cleaning his feathers. He must have liked it, sat there for ages with this dreamy expression. Fair to say I was doing something similar myself, minus the ants obviously...
Rags sunning in the backyard. Stay safe, you all. :)

My annual pilgrimage to the sunflower fields in Kansas. It must be September as even on the highways I see these little devils sprouting everywhere I go. The farmer of this field plants these beauties each year and they sprout just in time for Labor Day weekend.
HI FOLKS ... I can upload a photo and that is the end of what I can do on FLICKR. It has completely fallen apart and I can not even see my site ... SO frustrating. If anyone else is having such a issue or knows how to fix it please visit me on FB and let me know. THANKS.
Es faltern schon einige Schmetterlinge in Teichpfanne bei uns herum. Der C-Falter hat sich als erster fotografieren lassen.
A few butterflies are already folding in our pond pan. The C-butterfly was the first to be photographed.

Summer arrives in Scotland, sun shines and temperature rising. My other half walking on water at Morar on the west coast of Scotland. Canon by Nikon!
The background isn't great on this shot, but I'm glad I managed to catch this Shetland pony seeming to bow in the low evening light peeping between the trees.
Sun Worship Happy Caturday Leo cat loves being in a warm sunbeam napping as he is here enjoying the warmth.
Kakashi thought it was too cold to venture further than the porch and just closed his eyes and soaked up the nice sunshine.

➤ Your image must be an open-card-style diptych (not just side-by-side panels … see first two entries below for examples).

➤ Your illustration must include purple and/or blue flower(s).
➤Also one or more black or dark-colored silhouettes (human and/or animal).
➤ NO WATER of any kind.
( **A haiku is a short poem of 17 syllables, typically in three lines of five, seven and five syllables.)
