" Kiss me hard before you go
Summertime sadness
I just wanted you to know
That, baby, you're the best
I got my red dress on tonight
Dancing in the dark, in the pale moonlight
Done my hair up real big, beauty queen style
High heels off, I'm feeling alive
Oh, my God, I feel it in the air
Telephone wires above are sizzling like a snare
Honey, I'm on fire, I feel it everywhere
Nothing scares me any more
Two, three, four
Kiss me hard before you go
Summertime sadness.. "

You feel like summertime
You took this heart of mine
You'll be my valentine in the summer, in the summer
You are my only one
Just dancin'; having fun
Out in the shinin' sun of the summer, of the summer

This male Savannah sparrow was performing his best songs to attract the ladies. He was really fun to watch perched atop a bush on a sunny morning in Calgary, Alberta.
In many parts of the species' range, especially in coastal areas and islands, Savannah Sparrows tend very strongly to return each year to the area where they hatched. This tendency, called natal philopatry, is the driving force for differentiation of numerous Savannah Sparrow subspecies.

a wonderful weekend with
Summertime, time, time
Child, the living's easy
Fish are jumping out
And the cotton, Lord
Cotton's high, Lord so high
Your daddy's rich
And your ma is so good-looking, baby
She's a-looking good now
Hush, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby
No, no, no, no, don't you cry, don't you cry
One of these mornings
You're gonna rise, rise up singing
You're gonna spread your wings, child
And take, take to the sky
Lord, the sky.........

And the cotton is high
Oh, your daddy's rich
And your ma is good-lookin'
So hush, little baby
Don't you cry

It's been kind of a long winter this year here at the west coast of Norway (some would say it lasted all through the summer and we went straight to autumn, skipping summer entirely...)
This photo is taken 4th of July, on road fv520 from Sauda to Røldal. The road had just opened on July 3rd after the winter. It was closed again July 5th due to risk of flooding and avalanches, though it reopened a couple of days later. (It usually opens in late april or early may). The altitude here is about 800-900 meters above sea level, I would guess (don't know exactly where I took the picture along the road.).
It is part of a National Tourist Routes in Norway.
The Happy Caturday theme for today, 2/17, is summertime pictures- this is a rare one of both Miracle and Jake in one frame, enjoying the summer breezes.
A scenic landscape around the Abberley hills of Worcestershire, England from a couple of summers ago. I liked how the barn and the small group of trees added to the scale of the fields here.
