in 1994, Crayola released a set of crayons entitled "Gem Tones," supposedly corresponding to different precious and semi-precious stones. I remember being enamored with them as a kid, but now I only have a few broken bits of those original crayons left. Thankfully, they're available in mint-condition unopened boxes on Ebay, so I'm now the proud owner of my own set of crayons from the year before I was born. :)
