Another cold day here in the Northwest of Germany, time to check the files providing memories of warm Summer holidays in Denmark. Henne Mølle Å, Jylland, Denmark
Camper's and day visitors enjoy a relaxing day at Alberta's Upper Kananaskis Lake. Soon they will be snowshoeing and cross-country skiing here.
This portion of Alberta, south of Banff, is called Kananaskis Country. The spine of the continent's Rocky Mountains runs between Banff's world-renown peaks to Glacier National Park's many iconic peaks. Same mountains, similar grandeur.
It's a protected ecosystem so generally will see lots of wildlife as well.
Also known as Hollywood North, as many movies are made here.
Wasn't too well-known but is now, requiring a $90 annual pass or $15 day pass to enter K Country. Well worth it for nature lovers.
Goodbye summer, welcome to my favorite time of year: Autumn.

By mid-summer the corn had grown so high that I had to climb on top of my car with my tripod in order to be able to seen and capture this sunset.

Now that the little flowers on my dwarf butterfly bush have opened, my summer butterfly guests have arrived for their daily breakfast and lunch. This is my first butterfly encounter, other then the skippers who have been in my gardens since spring. This is a Great Spangled Fritillary (thank you Steve for the identification). Hopefully the swallowtails will be next ;-)

For me, this is the epitome of a summer evening. Cornfields, golden and heavily loaded, are swaying in the warm summer breeze. Frequently amongst them, especially at the edges of the fields, small colourful flower islands. The air is filled with the singing of the birds and the buzzing of the insects. Here, I like to stay a while, enjoying the moment.
Dies ist für mich der Inbegriff eines Sommerabends. Getreidefelder, die sich golden und schwer beladen im warem Sommerwind wiegen. Unter ihnen, vor allem an den Rändern der Felder, immer wieder kleine bunte Blumeninseln. In der Luft liegt der Gesang der Vögel und das Brummen der Insekten. Da verweile ich gern und geniesse den Augenblick.

Summer Salad is a macro photograph of ranunculus petals.. It is a pat of a series called 'Plates'. Here the petals were darker and the overall image needed some brightening. I also added a slight swirl effect for movement.
