auch Arimaddana oder Arimaddanapura, „Stadt Zerbrecher der Feinde“, und Tambadipa, „Kupferland“ oder Tassadessa, „Ausgedörrtes Land“) ist eine historische Königsstadt in Myanmar mit über zweitausend erhaltenen Sakralgebäuden aus Ziegelstein. Der von Tempeln bestandene Bereich erstreckt sich über ca. 36 km² in einer versteppten Landschaft und bildet eine der größten archäologischen Stätten Südostasiens. Bagan liegt in der heutigen Mandalay-Division, 155 km südwestlich der Stadt Mandalay am Ostufer des Irrawaddy, auf halbem Weg zwischen dessen Quelle und der Mündung in den Indischen Ozean und ist heute eines der wichtigsten touristischsten Ziele in Myanmar.

The area made up of temples extends over approx. 36 km² in a stepped landscape and forms one of the largest archaeological sites in Southeast Asia. Bagan is located in what is now the Mandalay Division, 155 km southwest of the city of Mandalay on the east bank of the Irrawaddy, halfway between its source and its mouth in the Indian Ocean and is now one of the most important tourist destinations in Myanmar.

The Lesser Goldfinch
Lesser Goldfinches are tiny, stub-billed songbirds with long, pointed wings, and short, notched tails. They are most common in California and Texas, with pockets of local populations throughout the rest of its U.S. range.
Lesser Goldfinches feed in weedy fields, budding treetops, and the brush of open areas and edges. Depending on food availability, they may concentrate in mountain canyons and desert oases, but they are also fairly common in suburbs.
The oldest known wild Lesser Goldfinch was a male, and at least 7 years old when he was recaptured and re-released during banding operations in California in 2015.

A northern tributary of the River Clyde, the River Kelvin rises in the Kilsyth Hills, 3 miles (5 km) east of Kilsyth and flows southwest for 21 miles (33.5 km) before joining the Clyde, 2 miles (3 km) west of Glasgow city centre. For much of its first 2 miles (3 km) the Kelvin flows alongside the Forth & Clyde Canal, which has disturbed its course and rendered it little more than a drainage ditch. It forms the boundary between North Lanarkshire and East Dunbartonshire between Queenzieburn and Kirkintilloch, receives the Galzert Water and Luggie Water, then forms the border between East Dunbartonshire and Glasgow to the southeast of Milngavie and finally passes through the residential suburbs of Maryhill, Kelvinside, Hillhead and Kelvingrove, before reaching the Clyde at Partick. The Botanic Gardens, the University of Glasgow, the Kelvin Hall and the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum all lie on its banks.

Welcome to the bird show Phoebe. I really don't know much about Phoebe. I have seen one on occasion during last fall and again last spring migration seasons. ID shots were about all I could get because he was so shy and so quick. This one may or may not be the same Phoebe from the past but it seems used to me already and if I am outside with the camera it is not phased by me or the clicking of the camera.
I sat reading my book (yeah right), on the glider which is located where the people swing used to be under oak three. There I watched when Phoebe came to play. He would fly swiftly and dip his toes in the main body of the pond and retreat to a bistro chair or a branch to preen and do it all over again.
Once bath time was over Phoebe perched in the willow tree located in the bog and began searching for caterpillars. Sorry Phoebe, the palm warblers beat you to them, I though to myself. I wish I had beaten the palm warblers to them but those little guys are up too early for me to be so lucky. Of course, I would raise the caterpillars if I found them, not eat them :)
The time for raising butterflies for the season is about over. We occasionally get a cold snap in December and butterflies don't really like the cold. And I am not equipped to keep them indoors if they hatch during a cold snap. So, after I raise and release the few monarch and goldrim butterflies that are currently in protective custody that will be all for the year. I didn't bother trying to keep count of how many butterflies I raised this year but it was a bunch.

So I cruised down the M2, through the Lane Cove Tunnel, along the ultra congested M1, underneath Sydney harbour in another tunnel, and then west along William Street via Kings Cross to ultimately reach - Rushcutters Bay.
You need a coffee just to recover from Sydney's roads, especially when one lives out in the Hills District.
But anyway, the ambience was good with a storm to arrive from the west. I was able to get some dusk & twilight images before the clouds completely took over the skyline.

Belly, throat, nose band, eye ring and inside of ears are white. Tail brown and edged with white above often with a dark stripe down the center and white below. Black spots on side of chin. Buck's antlers can spread to 3 feet. Does rarely have antlers. Fawns are spotted.
The White-Tailed Deer inhabits farmlands, brushy areas, woods, suburbs and gardens.
They range throughtout the southern half of the southern tier of Canadian provinces and through most of the United States except for the Southwest.
