Early morning in the suburbs of Shanghai, Jiading district, on a very rare snowy winter day. On days like this road traffic collapses rapidly because there are no snow removal vehicles in Shanghai.
The grey overcast sky and the snow covered ground and trees make this photo appear like a B&W image. Just the red tones of a fuel station add a little color to the otherwise nearly monochrome image.
Location: Near the intersection of 胜辛路 (Shengxin Road) with 宝安公路 (Bao'an Highway).

This path leads to a WWII bunker just over the summit. From there you overlook the suburb of North Ward and the Strand. In the distance you can see Magnetic Island. You can tell by the clothes that Winter is very mild here.

In the 19th and at the beginning of the 20th century lots of beautiful churches were erected in the suburbs of European cities because of rapid population growth. St. Johann Evangelist in the Viennese suburb Favoriten is one of them. It was built 1872-75 in the Neo-Renaissance style.
Had this location in the back of my mind for a while before I made it happen. And then it took a while mulling over it before I figured out how to edit it.
I'm always a sucker for lines...
