Trying to cancel a magazine subscription for "Entertainment Weekly". They actually made it pretty easy (I expected the unsubscribe option to be hidden or not available at all), but then they try to trick you into continuing the subscription through the end of your current paid period. I clicked 'No'.

The Subscription Schoolhouse was moved to this location in Beverly in 1993, it was originally located on the Bell’s Farm, near Becky’s Creek in Randolph County. The school was built in the 1870s and was originally called the Haddan Mill Run School. This subscription schoolhouse is the last of its kind in Randolph County and possibly the last in West Virginia.

Being a Doctor, I always feel that I have been extra blessed and made responsible by God to take care of health of others especially the under privileged and deprived class of society. With this view I have laid the foundation of R.K.HIV AIDS Research & Care Centre, a charitable organisation which is working in the field of Prevention, Detection & Management of HIV/AIDS patients in India.
We have been constantly working amongst commercial sex workers (c.s.w.s), for the prevention of sexually transmitted infections (S.T.I.) holding seminars, lectures and direct contact programmes with these groups and also interacting with young people to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS.
R.K. HIV/AIDS & Research Care Centre always working for poor slum dwelling people of Mumbai for their general medical needs by organising for the last three years in these camps we provide free diagnosis, investigations including free medication for welfare of poor and weaker section of our society.

Hooray, viz arrived today! As did my copy of Gene's 'Drawn to the Deep End' that cost 14p from Amazon. Bargain classic indie.
Tipped in to the back of the second issue of "The Fleuron" are a number of "Examples of contemporary commercial work" and this includes this publicity brochure for "The Spectator" printed by W. H. Smith & Son Ltd. who are better recalled as the High Street newsagents and booksellers but who, for many years, also maintained their own printing works.
The cover artwork is by Clough Williams Ellis (1883 - 1978), the Weslh architect and designer. At the time of printing, 1922, his father in law was John St Loe Strachey, the editor of The Spectator through marriage to his daughter Amabel. The magazine's address is given as 13 York Street, Covent Garden, London - an address you would look for in vain now. York Street became the eastern extension of Tavistock Street in 1937 and the building still stands, now part of a restaurant.

Constable Sheahan was a member of the Dublin Metropolitan Police force. He lost in life in tragic circumstances in May 1905 when he was overcome by deadly gas in the sewers of Dublin as he attempted to rescue unconscious workmen. Sheahan’s heroics touched the heart of native Dubliners, as this young man of only 29 had given everything in an attempt to save others. In 1906 a monument to Sheahan was erected, paid for my public subscription, and placed at the site of the tragedy.
This memorial incorporates a water fountain and for many years I have complained that in general fountains in Dublin appear to lack water and in most cases they are badly maintained. However, this particular memorial is well maintained but it should be noted that it has been recently relocated [slightly] to make way for the new Luas tram tracks.

The school known as the Van Hook Subscription School was started around 1810 and operated until the Civil War, and possibly beyond. The log school is the one of the oldest former school structures in North Carolina. The school, measuring 10 x 15 feet was located in southwesten Person County before being moved to Roxboro at the site of County History Museum
